An Alliance for Greater Lagos, a grassroots political movement
within the All Progressive Congress (APC) has drummed up support for the
re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Mr Olayinka Kazeem Esho for Lagos
State House of Assembly, Mushin 2, in the forthcoming party primary election.
The Convener of the group, Mr Ganiyu Olayemi made this known
at a media briefing in Lagos on Tuesday that the group was only endorsing
credible, experienced, and people-focused aspirants in the forthcoming direct
primaries.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party will
hold its primary into the House of Assembly, Governorship and Presidential
elections on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The group said it had also endorsed the Deputy Governor, Kadiri Hamzat as the party’s gubernatorial candidate and the Deputy Speaker, Mrs Mojisola Meranda for the state House of Assembly, Apapa 1, Nureni Akinsanya representing Mishin 2 and Mr Richard Kasumu for Ikeja 1.
Olayemi explained that their endorsement reflected the
confidence iof the movement in their leadership capacity, loyalty to the
progressive movement and readiness to further advance the vision of Greater
Lagos.
The convener said it was actively supporting aspirants who
possess a proven track record of grassroots development and infrastructure
support in the forthcoming House of Assembly, governorship and presidential
primary elections
“After careful consideration and engagement with the realities
facing our people across Lagos State, we are convinced that leadership must be
visible, Leadership must be accessible. Leadership must produce results that
people can see and feel in their daily lives.
“It is based on this conviction that Alliance for Greater
Lagos wholeheartedly endorse Hon. Olayınka Kazeem Esho for Lagos State House
of Assembly Mushin Constituency 2.
“Esho is a man whose commitment to the growth of Mushin
continues to inspire confidence among the people.
“His passion for community among service, youth development,
grassroots empowerment, and responsive representation makes him a worthy choice
for continued leadership.
“Also, we are proud to endorse Hamzat for Governor of Lagas
State. His years of service, competence, experience and deep understanding of
governance have contributed immensely to the progress the State enjoys, ” he
said.
Olayemi said the group strongly believe he possesses the
vision, stability, and leadership capacity needed to move the state to greater heights
According to him, in the same spirit, we endorse Mr Nureni
Akinsanya for Lagos State House of Assembly, Mushin Constituency 1 and Mr
Adedamola Kasumu for Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikeja Constituency 2.
Olayemi said the endorsement was not just politics, but
it was about continuity of progress, trusted leadership, and securing a better
future for the people of the state
He therefore urged party farthfuls accross the state to
support these aspirants during the party primaries
The convener urged all party members to conduct themselves
peacefully and uphold the unity and values of the party throughout the primary
process.
