It was a gathering filled with love, nostalgia, celebration
and gratitude on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as Maryland, USA-based society woman,
Mrs. Folake Arowomole, popularly known as Folly Opepe, joined her siblings to
host a grand remembrance party in honour of their beloved late mother, Mrs.
Rosannah Olufunmilayo Ojerinola.
The colourful event attracted family members, friends, associates and well-wishers from far and near, all of whom converged on the prestigious Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State, to celebrate the enduring legacy of a woman whose memory remains deeply cherished by her children even 26 years after her passing.
From the moment guests began arriving at the venue, it was
obvious that the event would be one to remember. The atmosphere was vibrant and
glamorous as guests stepped out elegantly dressed in the beautifully selected
Ankara Aso-Ebi fabric for the occasion. The hall came alive with dazzling
fashion statements, as each attendee proudly showcased exquisitely tailored
outfits.
Mrs. Folake Arowomole and her siblings were on hand throughout
the event, warmly receiving guests and ensuring everyone felt welcomed and
comfortable. Their hospitality and attention to detail added a special touch to
the memorable gathering.
One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony came during
the tribute session. Family members, friends and associates took turns sharing
touching memories and heartfelt testimonies about the late Mrs. Ojerinola.
Speakers extolled her virtues, recalling her kindness, generosity, wisdom and
the positive impact she made during her lifetime. The tributes painted the
picture of a remarkable woman whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
Adding glamour and excitement to the event was renowned
broadcaster and master of ceremonies, Dr. Enitan Olusegun Bamidele (EOB). With
his trademark wit, humour and captivating storytelling skills, he kept guests
entertained throughout the programme. His engaging presentation ensured a
smooth flow of activities while filling the hall with laughter and excitement.
The celebration reached another high point during the party
proper as the live band took centre stage. The musicians delivered an energetic
performance that kept guests dancing for hours. One after the other, the
children of the deceased joined family members and friends on the dance floor
in joyful celebration of their mother's life and legacy.
A major highlight of the event was the impressive presence of
members of the Forever Grateful Women's Club, who turned out in large numbers
to honour one of their distinguished members, Mrs. Folake Arowomole, fondly
known within the association by her revered title, Iyalaje. Many members
travelled from different parts of Nigeria and abroad to be part of the special
occasion, further demonstrating the high regard in which she is held.
Several other social and professional groups were also well
represented, adding colour and prestige to the event. Their presence further
underscored the strong relationships and goodwill Mrs. Folake has built over
the years.
Throughout the celebration, guests were treated to sumptuous
meals, quality entertainment and warm hospitality. The dance floor remained
busy as friends and well-wishers showered Mrs. Folake and her siblings with
love, prayers and generous gifts. To crown the occasion, guests went home with
beautifully packaged souvenirs as keepsakes of the memorable event.
Indeed, the remembrance party was more than just a social
gathering; it was a fitting tribute to a beloved mother whose values, love and
legacy continue to live on through her children. By celebrating her memory in
such a grand style, Mrs. Folake Arowomole and her siblings once again
demonstrated the importance of family, gratitude and honouring those who have
positively impacted our lives.
For everyone who attended, it was a memorable celebration that
will remain fresh in their hearts for years to come.
