Praises Senator Akanbi's Humanitarian Efforts
In a heartwarming display of interfaith harmony and
appreciation, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Abubakar
Agbotomokekere, paid a courtesy visit to Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi at his
Ibadan residence. The visit was a testament to the strong bond between the
Islamic community and Senator Akanbi, who has been a long-time supporter of
various humanitarian causes.
During the visit, the Chief Imam lauded Senator Akanbi's
humanitarian services, describing them as "impartial, selfless, and
without discrimination." He attributed the Senator's good character to his
family lineage, citing the contributions of his father and grandfather in
promoting Islam in the region.
"Senator Akanbi's commitment to humanity is truly
inspiring," said the Chief Imam. "His dedication to helping those in
need, regardless of their background or faith, is a shining example of the
values we hold dear in Islam."
The Chief Imam specifically highlighted Senator Akanbi's
father, Chief Muibudeen Olalere Akanbi, who played a significant role in
building and financing the Central Mosque, Oja Oba, and other Islamic projects
in the South-West region and Nigeria at large. He also mentioned Senator
Akanbi's grandfather, Alh. Akinwande Bello Akanbi, who propagated Islam in
Ibadan and built one of the largest mosques in the city.
"Senator Akanbi's family has a rich history of service to humanity, and he has continued that legacy with his own humanitarian efforts," said the Chief Imam.
The visit culminated in a Zuhr prayer session at the mosque
within Senator Akanbi's compound, demonstrating his commitment to his faith.
The Chief Imam concluded by acknowledging that Senator Akanbi's humanitarian
services have earned recognition globally, even in Saudi Arabia.
"Senator Akanbi's selflessness and dedication to humanity
are an inspiration to others .We are grateful for his contributions to our
community and described him as a worthy son in whom they are well pleased.
