Alhaja Sifau Abebi Wahab (nee
Olakojo), the first wife of Alhaji Wahab Ishola Alarape Fasasi of Seriki Sanngo
house in Oyo, passed away on February 13th, 2024 at the age of 90 and was
buried on Wednesday, February 14th 2024 at her residence at 32, Odo Eran Road,
Opposite Alliance Hotel, Owode Oyo Town.
On Wednesday 21st February 2024,
the Wahab's family of Oyo town in Oyo State held 8th Day Fidau Prayers for their
late mother, Alhaja Sifau Abebi Wahab.
The event, held at the Old Oyo
National Park, Ishokun Oyo, attracted top celebrities from all walks of life
from within the pacesetter state and beyond.
Alhaji Mukail Abolaji, the Chief
Imam of Ansar-udeen, Oyo led the Fidau prayers. In his sermon, he harped on why
death should always serve as a lesson to all and the importance of living an
impactful life. He described the deceased as a devoted and committed Muslim who
served Allah till she breathed her last.
Other Islamic clerics at the
Fidau prayers included Alhaji Imam Lateef Ayodele, Alhaji Imam Muideen Zanngo,
Alhaji Imam Abdulafeez Busari, Alfa Ismail, Sheikh Abimbara, Alhaji Aleniboro,
Alhaji Olore, Alhaji Kharash, Chief imam Federal College Education, Oyo, Sheikh
Mojeed Parakoyi, Sheikh Kabeer Alawaye, Sheikh Musa Zanngo, Alhaji AbdulAkeem
Animashaun, Sheikh Idris Lahaola, Sheikh Wakeel Adekunle and Sheikh Afees
Taiwo, among others.
After the Fidau prayers, guests
were hosted in a very colourful reception during which all to eat and drink,
except alcoholic drinks, were made available abundantly. There were also all
kinds of beautiful souvenirs as take home for guests. Bashir Wahab's beautiful
wife, Alhaja Balqis Bola Wahab really proved herself as an excellent hostess.
She made sure all the invited guests were adequately taken care of.
Mama in her lifetime was a
well-known trader, particularly during the Ramadan period, for selling Moin
Moin. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
including Kamar Wahab, Bashir Wahab, Mutiat Wahab-Mohammed, and Lukmon Wahab
and other adopted children
