On Saturday, December 30th, 2023, City People Humanitarian Foundation, a non-profit subsidiary of City People Media Group, distributed palliatives to the Hausa community in the Gbagada area of Lagos.
The turnout was huge, with every family in the community represented. The program began with an opening prayer from Chief Imam, Mallam Abubakar.
Dr.
Seye Kehinde, Chairman and Managing Director of City People Humanitarian Foundation,
thanked the Hausa community for their peaceful coexistence in the community in
his welcome address.
Mr.
Wahab Bashir, one of the managers at City People, highlighted the foundation's
goals during his remarks.
In addition to
providing food items in the form of palliatives, the foundation aims to focus
on empowerment by organising a series of skill acquisition training for youths
in the area in the coming year.
The Seriki of the Hausa Community, Mallam
Babase, in his response on behalf of the Community,
expressed gratitude to the management and prayed for the organization's success
as it embarks on its services to humanity.
Around 300
recipients of the palliatives went home with joy and happiness as they posed
for photographs
