An Ikole Ekiti-born young talented painter, Ogunsua Victor, has
embarked on a remarkable journey of 80-hours Paint -A-Thon to break the
Guinness World Record of longest painting marathon currently held by Ronald
Palmeart, who achieved the longest continuous painting session for 60 hours in
2013. Victor aims to paint non-stop for 3 days, an astounding 80 hours to
surpass Palmeart's record.
In a heartening show of support, the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji represented by Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Adesola Gold and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Oso-Omotosho, yesterday, visited Victor at Fajuyi park, venue of the challenge, to express their solidarity and admiration for his creative initiative.
Mr. Adesola commended Victor's exceptional creativity and
courage to successfully go through the rigours of Guinness World Records
registration while Mrs. Mary Omotosho emphasised the importance of the visit.
She noted that Victor's endeavour perfectly aligns with Governor Oyebanji's
vision of fostering a thriving creative economy.
She noted that Governor Oyebanji is committed to harnessing
the creative potential of Ekiti youth through the Ministry of Arts, Culture and
Creative Economy, the Ministry of Youth Development and other relevant MDAs.
This is not only to address unemployment but also to encourage self-reliance
among the youth.
Both officials who were accompanied by leadership of youth and
student bodies in Ekiti State, encouraged Victor to stay determined in his
remarkable effort. They assured him of the state government's unwavering
support throughout the Guinness World Record challenge.
As a token of their support, they presented Victor with cash
gifts on behalf of the Governor and pledged further assistance as he advances
in his extraordinary journey.
