Deputy Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK) on Sunday 30th July 2023 put a final seal on his marital union with former Miss Ifenyiwa Morenike Esther Omegara in the city of Lagos.
It was a beautiful crowning of an eventful relationship that started on a friendship note seven (7) years ago. The first leg of their ceremony had taken place in a private ceremony a fortnight ago.
Sunday's event, aptly tagged #MoradeReloaded, #TheFinalSeal was the last and final leg of the nuptials.
Very colourful, lush and deluxe, the wedding took place in the
brilliantly decorated ambience of Classique Event Centre, in the heart of
Ikeja, Lagos and indeed, it lived up to its billing!
In attendance were high-ranking dignitaries and top echelon of
the Lagos political, governmental, business and social establishments.

The Groom
Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, popularly called ARK is the
Lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of
Assembly. Currently serving his third term, he is the Deputy Majority Leader of
the House.
Educated at the University of Wolverhampton, UK Kasunmu is a
Prince of the Mogaji/Tinubu/ Kasunmu families of Lagos. A lover of the youth
and an advocate of youth inclusion in
governance, Hon Kasunmu has made a tremendous landmark in both his political
and legislative career.
His previous attempt was dissolved amicably a long while ago.
Hon. Kasunmu enjoys using his life experiences to mentor, motivate and guide
others.

The Bride
The Bride, former Miss Ifenyiwa Esther Omegara, is a Fashion and
Digital Entrepreneur.
She is the founder and CEO of Dassah Empire, a Lagos-based
avant-garde fashion brand currently making waves across Nigeria and beyond both
online and offline.
She is also the founder of
Nuella Autism Foundation.
A graduate of Banking and Finance, Princess Esther is a native of Imo of state, born and
bred in Ikeja, Lagos.
Her father, Hon. Matthew Omegara was the first politician in
Imo State to win a House Representatives election on the platform of ACTION CONGRESS OF NIGERIA, which was then
regarded as a Yoruba party in the South East. He served in the National
Assembly for two terms. Hon. Omegara is
a progressive politician and long-standing follower of President Bola Ahmed
Tinubu.
The marriage of his daughter to the nephew of the President,
Hon. Kasunmu turns out to be another beautiful irony of life. The Bride is also
a former beauty queen who won Miss Ideal in 2018.

Aside from the names mentioned earlier, there were other
movers and shakers who are too numerous to be listed here.
It was one event that confirmed Hon Kasunmu's status as an
influential member of the Lagos political class.

It is not always easy to have all the Honourable members of
Lagos State House of Assembly gathered together in one place. This is so
because of their busy parliamentary and Constituency engagements. However, all
the 39 members and Principal Officers of the current 10th Assembly were present
to felicitate the Deputy Majority Leader and his wife. The members were led by
Mr. Speaker himself who is like a father figure to the groom.
Hon. Kasunmu's wedding is the first major social event of the
House, since the inauguration of the 10th Assembly last month.

Welcomes Mrs Kasunmu
LASLEWA is the acronym for Lagos State Legislators Wives
Association. The ever-captivating wives of Lagos Lawmakers turned out
massively in colourful attires to rally around and welcome Mrs Kasunmu to their
fold officially.
The wife of the Speaker and President of LASLEWA, Mrs Falilat
Obasa led the women to the event.
Mogaji-Tinubu-Kasunmu Families Well Represented
Very conspicuous at the wedding was the noticeable presence of members of the Mogaji, Tinubu and Kasunmu families who came adorned in colourful lace aso-ebi.
The maternal grandmother of the groom, Alhaja Dr Abibatu
Ashabi Mogaji was the mother of the current Nigeria President and also the late
Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, who in her lifetime was an iconic politician and
well revered leader.
The large number of
family members and market women at the event was a mark of respect and honour
for the late Matriarch and also a show of support for their own son, Hon.
Kasunmu. Notable among the family were Alhaja Fehintola Muri-Okunola who was
represented by her children; Alhaja
Okunu, represented by Olaitan Samuel;
Chief(Mrs) Omolara Fashola; Alhaja Badmus. Alhaja Modupe Fausat Mogaji stood-in
for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
and also played the role of the groom's mother. Also present were the members
of the Kasunmu family led by the groom's father, Pa Adekunle Olaosebikan Kasunmu .

Family Shows Support
Just like the groom, the Bride is also from a political family. Her dad, Hon. Matthew Omegara, was a two-term member of the House of Representatives where he represented Members in Isiala Mbano/Okigwe/Unuimo Federal Constituency of Imo State from 2007 to 2015 on the platform of the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). He had also served as the State Vice Chairman of APC in Imo State.
Hon. Omegara with the Bride's mum as well as large numbers of
political associates and families added colours to their daughter's wedding.
