Alhaja Nurat Olatunde Ademosu as she turns 85. She
is truly ageing gracefully. She is truly blessed.
Let's tell you a little about this great woman, who
was born in Ijebu-Ode, Ayegun Street to Alhaji & Mr.
Abdul Kareem Lawal. She was 1 of 5 siblings, namely:
a brother and 4 sisters. Growing up, she began going to Lagos preliminary school.
Later she would begin work at Kingsway Store, as a Sales
Representative where she met her future husband. She worked for almost
3 years at Kingsway before joining her heartthrob in London in 1961.
She studied Secretarial Studies and finished with a Diploma in
Private studies.
She worked
for the Ministry of Labor and Productivity in Chepstow
Place, London. Moving forward to
1972 she joined her husband back in Nigeria. After
returning, she began working at the University of Ife (now Obafemi
Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) in the Faculty of Law.
Her established husband also began work at the Water Corporation
in Ede. They both came to
a decision of beginning a family, she would resign from her position to be
closer to her children and settle down in Ibadan. To her credit,
she later was employed by the premier university in Nigeria
where she work in different departments and units.
