June 18, 2023, was a special day filled with loads of great
and remarkable moments. It was the day Wuraolami Impact and Inspire Initiative,
a world-renowned NGO visited Ikotun Police Station of the Nigeria Police Force
to celebrate the 2023 edition of Father’s Day.
The fun fair was held at the very spacious premises of the
station which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The event started at
exactly 3pm with all the officers already seated eager to see how the event
unfolds.
The anchor of the day was Mr. Olamilekan Ojora who is an ambassador for Wuraolami Impact & Inspire. He began by informing the audience about the foundation and its many commendable projects.
He did well in giving honour to whom it’s due by ushering
senior officers and guests present to the well-decorated high table. Notable
among them are some senior officers who were called to the high table. Those on
the high table were ASP Evborokhai Camillus, Inspector Kolawole Nurudeen,
Inspector Oyewo Olukayode, DSP Afolabi Babatunde, and ASP Imohiosen Sunday. DPO
Adagba Johnson who was unavoidably absent was ably represented by ASP Omoh. As
the programme unfolds, a number of the special guests who were males took time
to share their experience as a father. They told many touching stories about
how they are coping with the many challenges attached to being a father.
The foundation went ahead to present gift items to the
officers as a way of commemorating the Fathers’ Day occasion. Each officer was
grateful as they smiled home to further celebrate with their respective
families. Also singled out for special recognition was Supol Funke Daniel for
her effort in ensuring that everything at the event was successful.
The convener, who is also the founder of the group, Dame Ifeoyinola Wuraolami .W. Jacobs, a UK- based philanthropist while addressing the officer spoke about why she held the event and the Nigeria Police in high esteem. The reason why she flew in from London the previous night for the event. She, therefore, gave a brief narration of her encounter with the police and was impressed by the way they treated her. Hence, she decided to replicate such a gesture to them by hosting them to a wonderful Father’s Day celebration.
Meanwhile, she promised to organize more impactful and
enlightening programs for the officers so as to better their well-being just as
the foundation's name implies.
The high point of the event was when ASP Imohiosen Sunday who is also a pastor presented awards to DPO Adagba Johnson, DSP Afolabi Babatunde, ASP Evborokhai Camillus, Inspector Kolawole Nurudeen, Inspector Oyewo Olukayode as a mark of honour
