Olasubomi Okhueleigbe is Nigeria’s first modern female
goldsmith. She is the Creative Director and Founder of Elesho Jewelry, a fine
jewelry brand that combines intuitive design and unparalleled craftsmanship in
producing exclusive jewelry that complements clients’ preferences.
She told all the guests seated that she always prefers to call
herself a Goldsmith because that is what she does.
In 2003, she added jewelry-making to the list of her
creative interests, and it gave birth to Elesho Jewelry by 2004.
Olasubomi has undertaken several pieces of training in Nigeria, the UK,
the United States, Russia, Dubai, and Turkey. She is an alumnus of the Revere
Academy of Jewelry Arts, San Francisco, California; New Approach School,
Nashville, Tennessee; International Jewelry School, Russia, and has taken several
private courses with renowned goldsmiths across the world.
Olasubomi is happily married and blessed with two sons. At the
event, she acknowledged the support of her husband. He was also there to give her much-needed support.
