One of Nigeria's leading Kings, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr.
Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II of
Erinmo Kingdom, the Elerinmo of Erinmo, Ijesha has honoured the
invitation to the coronation of His Royal Majesty, King Misuzulu
KaZwelithini in Durban, Republic of South Africa.
His Majesty was received at O.R Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg by the staff of the Consulate General of Nigeria Johannesburg on Friday, the 28 of October 2022.
He was flown to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal(KZN) in the company of
the members of the state security agency and was received by the President of
Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) Hon. Collins Thomas Mgbo at the presidential
suite of King Shaka International Airport in Durban, KZN.
He was also received by the members of the National
Association of Yoruba Descendants of
Southern Africa (NAYDSA)led by the National President, Aare Seyi
Akinyele.
His Majesty attended the coronation of HRM King Misuzulu
KaZwelithini at Moses Mahbida Stadium on the 29 of October 2022 after which he
proceeded to the gala dinner which took
place on the night of the king's coronation where he met with dignitaries such as
President Cyril Ramaphosa, Former
President Zuma, HRM Eswathi, the King of the Kingdom of Eswatini and a host of others.
Within that little space, they shared their experiences of
leadership at different level of society and how to develop and propagate the
African culture and tradition.
The City of Durban, under the leadership and magnanimity of its executive Mayor, Thomas Mxolisi Kaunda hosted His Majesty to dinner on the 1st of November, 2022 at uShaka Marine World, a world-class entertainment theme park and tourism destination located on Durban's Golden Mile.
His Majesty continued to receive in large numbers, members of the Nigerian
community in South Africa and well-wishers from other African nations.
His Majesty played
a pivotal role in the re-establishment
of the Structure of the Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) Durban ward after he
encouraged the community members to support the President of the Union, Hon.
Mgbo to make sure that his administration is successful.
He thanked everyone who contributed in making his stay a
peaceful one in South Africa, after which he proceeded to
the Gala dinner which took place on the
night of the king's coronation where he met with dignitaries such as
President Cyril Ramaphosa, Former
President Zuma, HRM Eswathi, the King of the Kingdom of Eswatini and a host of others.
His Majesty was hosted at the Residence of the Consul General of Nigeria South Africa by His
Excellency, Consul General Andrew Idi.
At the Dinner, His Excellency Andrew Idi introduced the iconic
lady behind the Southgerian Concept a non profit organisation whose purpose is
mainly scholarship for girls from both Nigeria and South Africa. And its
first episode commences in the first quarter of
2023 when 10 young girls 5 apiece
from both Nigeria and South Africa would be travelling to the United States of
America to study law on scholarship.
His Majesty also met with another wonderful South African lady and the brain
behind Milla Communication whose dream is to see an honest collaboration
between Nigeria and South Africa in terms of social cohesion noting that the continent can achieve more now and for the generation to come if the two
countries could put their differences
aside and work for hand in glove for the best of the continent. She was able to put
together a meeting with the department of Sport's arts and culture to discuss
further on the idea of the Congress or conference of traditional kings accross Africa in
Durban.
His Majesty was hosted by the former president of South Africa
His Excellency President Jacob Zuma at his homestead in Nkandla where both
leaders discused issues concerning
Nigeria, South Africa and the continent at large.
His Majesty was also hosted by Alex TV and granted an
interview where he elaborated on the Southgerian concept where Nigerian young
girls and South African young girls alike would be traveling to USA for further studies.
His Majesty also received the President of the United Africa Business Association, Mr Mosa
Monaheng and discussed at length vis a
vis the importance of synergy in intercontinental economic activities.
He thanked everyone who has contributed to making his stay a peaceful one in South Africa
