This is the impressive story of Hajia Ayisat Gbajabiamila, who
is currently making waves in politics. A few days back, we got her to tell us
more about her activism in politics.
"...I"m a member of APC UK Lagos state Caucus,
Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation in the Women's PCC (Presidential
Campaign Council) 2023, and Director of Media APC UK.
"I have contributed my quota in supporting my party and
our party Leaders.
How does she see the countdown to the General elections?
"The countdown has been very peaceful. My party, APC is ready to knock on the
door of our people all over Nigeria to
ensure we deliver for the party, all the positions, from Presidency to House of
Assembly elections, come February 2023 and March 2023.
What are the chances of APC? "Our chances are great, going by the infrastructural achievements of our government under President Buhari and the candidate of our party in the presidential election. Going by his track records in Lagos state during his tenure compared to others, he remains the most competent among all.
We are reassured that we shall win most states of the
federation during the election, come 2023."
Why and how did she go into Politics? "...I went into
politics around 2009. Why? because I believe it's part of my service to humanity.
As part of the student union, while in the university, I've always been
involved in Leadership roles and
Humanitarian activities.
We got her to tell us about her other all-female groups.
" I have a Female leadership group and Foundation that I
run. I'm the President of Ayisat Gbajabiamila Foundation and Founder of FILAE
(Females In Leadership And Empowerment) We Fly. We organise educative programs
and Empower our young girls, women, widows, and the elderly. We also include the
education of our young boys when we visit secondary schools to do Empowerment
for our young females."
"We believe this
will enable them to have the right upbringing and orientation of how to be a great
family man. We believe in catching them young, as they are leaders of tomorrow
and our great nation. We have a registered political platform too as part of
the organisation to promote good governance while requesting 35% &
above of female inclusion in the Nigerian government.
How vibrant is the APC UK? "APC UK remains the most
vibrant diaspora chapter, among many other chapters, under the leadership of
Former chairman, Dr. Idaewor and Now
under interim Chairman, Honourable Tunde Doherty."
"Many of our Leaders started with the party from Alliance
for Democracy( AD). Till date they are still with the party."
"We are the only diaspora chapter with regional and state
structures, with easier access and interaction with our Leaders and State
Level."
