Kindly introduce yourself...
My name is Omolola Abibat Popoola.
I'm a graduate of Psychology from UNAD. An accredited Project Manager from APM
UK & a software tester. I'm a mother of 2 beautiful daughters. My hobbies
are cooking and dancing.
I
know you combine Fabric business with interior design. How do you combine the 2
businesses?
It's been by the grace of God & the fact that I have a very strong passion for both fashion & Interior decor. Social media platforms have really helped in marketing & advertising for both businesses. I also have been able to keep up with the trends in both businesses by attending fashion shows & building fairs both at home & abroad.
You
have been in business for how long? What has been your staying power?
I've been in business for 16
years. I started off in England selling Designer cosmetics then moved on to clothing, bags & shoes, then delved into skincare products & now
interior decor.
How
has the Economy affected your business?
With the fabric business, the
exchange rate has reduced my profit margin. Still, with the interior decor
business, it has been very lucrative because I charge in dollars so the
accounts kind of balance in the end.
You
are beautiful and stylish. How have you maintained your style and look?
Thank you very much. I use good
skincare products, eat healthily, I don't hold grudges & I dance a lot
You
were very close to your dad years back What do you miss about him?
Yes, my dad, Alh. Isiaka Ayinde Bolarinwa Popoola (Former Baba Adini of Yewaland) was my hero. A very disciplined, God-fearing, caring, generous & kindhearted man with an impeccable sense of fashion. I miss his words of wisdom & support. He was the most supportive father ever. May Almighty Allah continue to grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
So what sort of a person is Omolola?
I'm a very down-to-earth person,
I'm someone you can rely on totally if you know me. I say things as it is, no
drama, no lies. I take each day as it comes with absolute trust in Almighty
Allah. I've been through a whole lot of highs & lows but I remain humble,
loyal and open-minded.
