Business tycoon and philanthropist, Ayoola
Awosemo, on Saturday 20th, August 2022, officially launched an ultra-modern
event centre in the city of Ibadan.
The event centre was named, E’ledua Multipurpose Event Hall; an indigenous name for God in Yoruba land. It occupies a very large expanse of land at the Office Bus stop, along Moniya Road, Sasa area of Ibadan.
The launching ceremony was held at the main hall of the event
centre as the edifice was commissioned by Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of
Oyo State House of Assembly. He was accompanied by quite a number of lawmakers
of the esteemed assembly. They include the likes of House Majority Leader; Hon.
Sanjo Onaolapo, Hon. Olusola Owolabi, Hon. Femi Julius, Hon. Rasaq Mabaje, Hon.
Kazeem Olagunju, Hon. Babajide Gabriel, Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo, Hon. Hakeem
Mustapha, and Hon. Olatunde Kehinde.
Giving a welcome address by proxy, Awosemo who is far away
abroad revealed that the desire to build the event centre was born out of his
philanthropist gesture which is to provide job opportunities for people and by
extension give a means of better livelihood. He said the event hall would also
go a long way in providing relaxation for fun seekers as they need not travel far away to get a befitting venue for their events. He however assured the audience that he won’t
be discouraged in replicating such gestures at every opportunity.
The Oyo Speaker during his speech commended Mr. Awosemo for
the laudable project and the initiative of giving back to his community as the
project would benefit the state at large. He pledged that he would ensure that
the event centre would enjoy the patronage of the lawmakers. At the same time, he urged
indigenes of Oyo state in the Diaspora to establish their businesses at
home as the state government is ready to fully support them.
Also speaking to commend the CEO of the event centre were the
Chairman, Oyo State Waste Management Authority; Prince Segun Moronfolu, Hon.
Hakeem Mustapha, Hon. Babajide Gabriel and Jadesola Oyetayo of Jade Cuisine.
The star-studded event was a classy one. It was attended by
top personalities such as the Majority Leader of Ibadan North Local Government;
Hon. Adeagbo Oluyemisi Ogunkeyede, Oyo state Commissioner for Youths and
Sports; Hon. Asiwaju Seun Fakorede; Prince Adebowale Falana, Alhaji Taoreed
Koleosho, Mr. Esimekuai Emmanuel, Alhaji Lawal Quadri, Chief Benedict Akika,
and many others.
They all had a splendid ceremony as they enjoyed the treat
given to them by the host in the very conducive environment of the event
centre. The waving-making music band, Dayo Success band was fully on ground to
entertain the host and guests as they wine and dine in celebration of the
launching of the multipurpose event centre.
The E’ledua Multipurpose Events Centre is an attractive and
inviting edifice when sighted from a long distance. A closer look at the
structural design depicts class. The 1500 setting capacity event centre houses
the main events hall; Abike Hall, and 3 galleries namely Arike Hall, Aremu Hall
and Ajoke Hall. Each of the galleries has a projector screen attached to
them. The galleries can be detached and used separately as each of them has
soundproof facilities to prevent interference when more than one event is
being held at the same time. It also has enough packing space for guests.
Aside from the massive halls at the premises, Eledua Multipurpose Events Centre offers facilities for lodging and a lounge/bar for fun seekers. It has come at the right time to ease its customers off the stress of the day. It is indeed a place to be.
