Over 50 Journalists Becomes SDGs Ambassadors In Lagos

 



On Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th May, 2022, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Lagos and Media Awareness & Information for All Network (MAIN) trained over 50 active journalists in Lagos on Sustainable Development Goals.
 It was in collaboration with the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs.

The 2 day training workshop that had  Publishers, Editors, reporters from online, electronic and print media in attendance, took place at the American Corner (the former Concord Newspapers office), 42, Local Airport road, Ikeja,Lagos.

The training featured very interactive sessions on the concept of Sustainable Development Goals and Targets, implementing Agenda 2030 and the SDGs in Nigeria, Dissecting the centrality of sustainability in development issues and reporting, sustainability story proposal, Gender equality and sustainable development Goals, introducing the Nigeria Network of Sustainable Development journalists and many more. 

At the end of the 2 Day event, 59 participants were decorated as Champions of Sustainable Development Goals and inducted into the Nigeria Network of Sustainable Development journalists by Mr Olusina Thorpe, Permanent Secretary, Min. of Information & Strategy.He also urged all the recipients to brace up and recommit themselves to the achievements of the SDGs in Nigeria,through their reportorial and editorial duties.
