On Saturday 26th March 2022, a great father, and an Icon who
has left his footprint on the sand of time, Prince Clement Ishola Adeyemi
Akinson was laid to rest in his hometown, Ibokun, Osun State.
It was an event many indigenes of Ibokun and its environs will
not forget in a hurry, Why? Because, one of the deceased daughters, Yeye Oge of
Dallas, Oluwatoyin practically shut down the town for her father's burial.
It was a Carnival-like event, as top celebrities from all walks of life stormed Ibokun town to support her.
It was a 2 -day event. The 1st day of the ceremony started
from Uni-Osun Mortuary Services Department Anatomy, in Asubiaro, Osogbo, Osun
State to his residence, at Rock of Ages, F36, Odo Agbala street, Ibokun in Osun
State.
The Lying in state was colourful and it was handled by
Farewell Funeral Home.
The Service of Songs and Christian Wake was held at his
residence and it started at 5pm. It was anchored by the Officiating Ministers of
God from Saint Micheal Catholic Church, at Ibokun in Osun State, where Baba was
a fervent member before his demise.
On the following day, Saturday, 26th of March, 2022, the
corpse left his residence for Saint Micheal Catholic Church, Ibokun Parish for
the final service. The preacher, Rev. Father Paul Akinyode charged the people
who attended the service to know that after death there is judgment and what
you do when you are on the earth will be judged after your death.
From the church, they left for the interment to perform the
dust to dust rite.
Entertainment of guests and reception took place almost
immediately at Ibokun Town Hall, where 2 good musicians displayed their
talents. The entertainment of guests was divided into 2. One was inside the
Hall, where the children of the deceased and their guests entertained their
guests, while the giant canopy erected outside was for the family.
The 2 places were filled to the brim, with dignitaries from
all over the world, including the creme de la creme of society and politicians to celebrate with the
US-based Yeye Oge of Dallas Texas, Chief Mrs. Toyin Akinwole.
Music was supplied by the 32 Artillery Brigade bands, anchored by
Sunday Aridunnu.
