Veteran Actor, Chief Yemi Remi Celebrates 50 Years On Stage

On Thursday 24th February 2021, popular Actor, Chief Yemi Remi who was one of the spotlights in the '80s in the movie industry celebrated 50 years on stage at the NUT Event Centre at Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

 

 Chief Yemi Remi is a highly energetic movie expert with an evergreen burning passion for acting. To celebrate his years on stage, he also set the day to launch a N50M Art Academy to service the young talents on the streets of Nigeria.

The event started with the arrival of guests which included popular actor Funsho Adeolu, Chief Kanran, Chief Jonathan Orepo, Madam Bose Joseph, Adeniji Isaac, Kabiyesi Oba Taiwo Thomas, The Onitigbo of Tigbomoku, Pa Amos, High Chief Ifademi Ifajobi, The Akaba of Mushin land, Dele Ayojobi and many others.

 The event started with a 3 tier prayer led by Prophetess Taiwo Akinremi after which the welcome speech was given by Chief Dr. Segun Remi. After a short while, the celebrant danced in with his children, Bidemi, Jumoke, Tomiiwa, Busayo and others.

After a while, Chief Remi took to the stage to deliver his speech.

 In his speech, he reflected on the early days of acting in Nigeria, how he had represented the Movie industry in many countries and the sad turn of events for veteran movie actors.

After this, an award ceremony for well-deserving guests followed.

Filled with joy, Chief Yemi Remi took to the stage to show off his dance steps, as he thrilled guests with beautiful music. Funsho Adeolu also sang some songs as the celebrant danced in merriment.

After a short while, Chief Kanran announced the launching of the N50M Art Academy, while Chief Yemi Remi talked about his wish to turn around the fate of Nollywood.

 

After this, an appreciation speech was given, while guests took to the dance floor to celebrate with friends.
