Popular and waving-making broadcaster, Yemi Sonde hit the
media waves as he launched his radio station, YES FM in Ibadan on Sunday 20th
March 2022.
The launching of YES FM was held at the Felicia Hall within
the high brow Jogor Centre in Ibadan. It was a grand ceremony that saw a long
and inexhaustible list of the crème de la crème of the broadcast industry in
the South West.
YES FM is a newborn from the stable of Yemi Sonde Media
Group. It is a licensed bilingual commercial radio station that covers news,
socio-political commentary, sports and entertainment with the desire to create
new experiences for audiences.
The grand launching ceremony was anchored by the trio of
talented MCs: MC LafUp, MC Sheryna and Grace Lancaster.
While welcoming guests to the ceremony, Yemi Sonde gave glory
to God for making his 14 years dream come to reality.
“Many would have
thought the YES FM in the station’s name stands as an acronym for Yemi Sonde…,
but let me declare again today that the YES in actual sense is the YES of God.
Although its
manifestation has been delayed for 14 good years (2008-2022), this is God’s own
time, which is always the best.
All Glory to Him in the
highest”
He also emphasized that YES FM has come not as a competitor to
existing stations but more of a collaborator whose presence would form synergy
with others to serve the audience better.
“I wish to say with all sincerity that YES FM has not come as
a competitor; rather, we have come to seek collaboration with other existing
broadcast establishments…."
He however assured the public that the station would put to
use its high-tech, state-of-the-art facilities with its highly creative and
dedicated personnel and would offer the best.

National Broadcasting Commission, Mallam Balarabe Shehu Ilelah who was ably
represented by Mr Raphael Akpan, director of the National Broadcasting
Commission (NBC), South-West Zone, Ibadan.

was “Quality Broadcast, the responsibility of a broadcaster”.
