The last few days in Lagos, has witnessed the colourful celebration of US-based celebrity lady, Alhaja Adetutu Asake Soyebo who celebrated her 60th Birthday in grand style. She turned 60 on Friday 18th March 2022. On that day she marked her birthday with Muslim prayers, after which some of her close friends spent the rest of the day, celebrating with her.
She celebrated her 60th Barakallah fii Umurik, that day in a unique and compact way, with her husband, Adekunle Wasiu Soyebo and their children. She was dressed in an all white Iro & Buba, with a white gele (headtie), white long scarf (Iborun) and white half shoe and silver to match her Jewellery, to brighten up the attire.
She was in good mood because, days before, she had another grand child added to the family. Her birthday prayers took place at her Lagos residence. The celebration actually started the day before, as friends began to drop bye to celebrate with Kunle & Adetutu (the celebrant) The barakallah fii Umurik Prayer Session, was anchored by Sheik Abdul Smeehm Ibraheem of Gbagada Mosque. He offered Special Prayers for the celebrant and gave her words of advice.
A big Birthday Thanksgiving party took place on Sunday 20th March, 2022 at the Classique Event Centre, on Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeka, Lagos. It was a Yellow affair, as over 500 beautifully dressed celebrity women stormed the party in Yellow outfits, to celebrate with Adetutu. All of them commended the celebrant as being a nice woman, who is selfless and is always there for all her friends. They all looked gorgeously attired for the party from head to toe. The main hall was filled to capacity, as many guests flew in from the U.S, London & Canada to honour the celebrant & her hubby. On bandstand was Faithband, led by the tall and handsome leader of the band, Ayo Ajekigbe. He thrilled guests and made all the celebrities to be on their feet, all through dancing, as he dished out melodious tunes, from Juju to Gospel to Hip Hop. He is no doubt a talented musician. It was a well planned party, handled by Seamless Events, a leading & reputable events planning company.
Olajumoke Adekoya, the beautiful ebony-complexioned CEO of Seamless Events was on her feet throughout, co-ordinating the party. No wonder everything worked like clock work. She did an excellent job of decorating and planning the party. She is passionate about creating memorable and timeless events. The party showed how great a dancer the celebrant is, because she was on her fit all through dancing to all the Gospel tunes. It also showed her stylish side, as she changed 4 times. She looked very glamorous each time she changed into her outfits. Her last outfit which was a lovely evening wear was what she wore for the disco session of the party.
Apart from her friends who rallied round the celebrant, her husband also attracted his own quality guests. Distinguished members of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club stormed the party with its Exco members. The current President and past Presidents were also there. Kunle Soyebo is a valued member of the club. They were not the only ones who came.
Members of UpAsso also attended. They sat together on the same table and wore similar caps. The team was led by Dr. Adetokunbo Adedeji, the Club’s President.
The celebrants husband was on his feet throughout the event, making sure everybody was okay. He was so busy throughout. He showed his wife undying love, when he was called upon to speak about the celebrant. He congratulated his wife and attributed the success of their marriage to his wife, who he said has always been calm and accommodating of his excesses, over the years. His wife who was obviously touched by his kind words stepped forward to embrace him, as he also moved towards her to do the same. One striking thing about the party was that there was so much to eat and drink. There was also small chops. Of course, there was Garri & Fish served.
What further made drinks to flow ceaselessly, was the fact that a lot of the Big Boys at the party came with their own drinks to supplement available drinks. They came loaded with a lot of assorted drinks and expensive Brandy & Whisky brands.
Everyone had Great fun, so much so that as at 10.30pm, guests were still dancing to the latest hits of Zazu & other hip hop tunes that the Dj dished out. Mention must be made of the role of the children of the celebrant, who also played key roles at the party. Many of them came from abroad and they flew in, with their spouses. The two parents of the celebrant were in attendance. They came on stage to take photos with Kunle & Adetutu. All in all, it was a classy party, as everybody had great fun marrying with the Soyebo’s.
