On Friday 11th February 2022, the Ansar-Ud-deen Society of
Nigeria (Oshodi branch) held a Fidau prayer in honor of Alhaja Fatimo Titilayo
Zurakat at their family house at 18, Akanji Odutola Street, Charity bus stop,
Airport Road, Oshodi.
The programme was sponsored by Otunba Yemi Saheed Lawal (FCA)
the Oganla of Gbagura.
It was a Fidau prayer that was anchored by Alhaji Abdulrasheed Durodola, the (acting Missioner of the Oshodi branch) and Ustaz Taofeeq Mabinuori, the Secretary to the Mission Board. Ustaz Jamiu Salimon and Ustaz Taofeek Oladele read out Suratul Yasin.The names of the Clerics/imams present at the Fidau prayer are Imam Rasak Bolawaye Uthman(Ipaja branch), Imam Wasiu Yussuf (Oworonshoki Branch), Imam Quadri Ajikobi (Egbe Branch), Alhaji Shuaib Olaiya Adeyanju(Branch Chairman), Alhaji Abdul Rofiu Olubodun(Branch Secretary), Alhaji Moshood Zakariyawu, Ustaz Yahyah Abdulazeez. (Emeritus Oshodi branch).
The Ansar-ud-deen society of Nigeria women all wore green and
white hijabs, while few wore white and leaf green hijabs.
Otunba Yemi Lawal and his siblings all stood out. His beautiful
wife wore white, while Otunba Yemi put on black cross Italian palm
slippers. Otunba Yemi Lawal's guests
included Chief Babatunde Obafunsho (Oluwo of Ikereku Abeokuta), Mr. and Mrs
Akorede (FCA), Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Kenny Olorundare.
Donations were made in honor of Alhaja Fatimo Titilayo Zurakat
by a few families like that of Alhaja Olubodun Zurakat's family, Alhaja Fatimo
(Egbe Royal Club), Otunba Yemi Saheed Lawal's family, Abisogun family, Alhaji
Rolu Iperu (Otunba Saheed Lawal brother), Alhaja Adebimpe, Senator Musiliu
Obanikoro, and Oshodi women branch.
Imam Abdulrasheed Durodola gave a special lecture and prayers for the family, while Otunba Yemi Lawal did the Vote of thanks and he talked about his sister's death and what people will say about bringing the Fidau prayer to their parents compound. He also said he is giving out Scholarships to 100 children in honor of his sister. He also said he was planning to send 10 people to Mecca on holy pilgrimage but because of his late sister's death, he will be adding another 5 people. He said there will be free cancer screenings for 50 women to support the eradication/prevention of Cancer and he said he is also giving out #200,000 cash to all imams and clerics available for the Fidau prayer, to support the needy in their missions and branches. All of these are in commemoration of his sister's birthday and sadaqat Jaa Riya. He said further that his sister's death due to cancer that doctors told her that she will not live more than 3months but she lived for 3years before she died. He said further that his sister was born in the third month of the year, in March, and got married in March and he remembered telling his sister that March is a bad year for her. He recalled all the fantastic things they did and the time they both spent together before she passed away. Lastly, he said all women should always endeavor to check themselves from time to time to avoid Cancer. After this, the closing prayers were offered.
The deceased was survived
by her children, namely: Dr.Rasheed & Raliat Zurakat-Odunusi, Alhaji Hakeem
& Shakira Akinyemi, Mr Abdul Kareem & Biliki Zurakat-Abdul Salam, Engr.
Lukman & Sekinat Zurakat-Aderibigbe, Dr Ridwan & Ganiyat
Zurakat-Aiyetoro, and Mr Abdul Basirat & Dr.Aishat Zurakat-Olaiya.
She was survived by 18 Grandchildren, Mother, Brothers, Sisters,
Nieces, Nephews, and in-laws.
