On Friday 4th of February, 2022, a virtuous woman, who is the
matriarch of the popular Kokumo dynasty, Lady Elizabeth Morenike Kokumo was
laid to rest, in Lagos.
Lady Elizabeth Morenike Kokumo in her life was an epitome of beauty, a great mother who many spoke well about even till her point of death. Many great testimonies were shared by family and friends about this virtuous woman at the tribute.
She was a mother to popular Deputy Inspector General of Police, AIG Johnson Kokumo and that explained why the prestigious Haven Event Centre in Ikeja GRA, Lagos was filled to the brim with dignitaries from all walks of life.
King of Juju Music, King Sunny Ade was on the bandstand. Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babafemi Hamza, the Iyaloja General, Folashade Tinubu, and many prominent monarchs were amongst the dignitaries that supported AIG Kokumo on this fateful day.
It was a powerful 3day event. The 1st day started on Wednesday 2nd February 2022 with the Service of songs at her residence, 18 Kokumo Avenue, Tomori Estate, Sango Ota, Ogun State.
The 2nd day, was on the 3rd of February 2022. That was when the Christian Wake Keep was held at Lion Field, Kokumo Road, Alimosho, Lagos State.
And on Friday, 4th of February 2022, the funeral service was held at their family church, Zion African Church, Ipaja road, Alaagba Agege, Lagos, while the reception and entertainment of guests followed almost immediately at the prestigious Haven Event Centre in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
Lady Elizabeth Morenike Kokumo was given a befitting burial. The event was regarded as one of the best organised events in 2022, as AIG Kokumo literally shut down the whole of Lagos.
