Freelanews Holds FLEA Awards, Leadership Conference In Lagos


On Wednesday,30th November 2021, one of the fast rising media platforms in the country, Freelanews, held the maiden edition of its Leadership Conference and the FLEA Awards in Lagos.

Freelanews is a medium established in 2018 and has grown in leaps and bound over the years. It has also enjoyed a huge number of readers across the country and beyond.

As a way of contributing meaningfully to the society and chatting the way forward in her course of the development of Nigeria, Freelanews held the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference and Flea Awards.

The event was held at the high brow, Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja GRA, Lagos.It featured 2 different sessions geared towards achieving the theme: “Visionary Leadership: A Panacea to Nigeria’s Under Development.
 Both sessions had quality resource persons as discussants. 
The first was a panel which saw a deliberation which was quite extensive and explosive. The over 45 minutes discussion was highly interactive, as the topic discussed was: “Inspiring the Future through Quality Visionary and Influential Leadership”. The session was moderated by popular film maker, Fidelis Duke while bright minds like Chief Olabintan Famutimi, Chairman Tricontinental Group; Olawale Olaleye, Deputy Editor, ThisDay Newspaper; and Princess Kelechi Oghene, MD/CEO, GMYT Fashion Academy were part of the discussants.




The second session was highly educative, as the panelists discussed the topic:”Innovation Driven Policy Making in the Digital Age”,This was meticulously moderated by Legal officer, Oluwanisola Afolabi. Members of the discussion panel were Tubosun Osifowora, Principal Partner Osifowora & Co.; Tolu Medebem, COO/Lead Consultant, Aster Marketing; Prince Dapo Adelegan, Chairman Celtron Group; and Efe Omorogbe, CEO, Buckwyld Media.




At the end of both sessions, Nigerians were charged on choosing visionary leaders that are capable of driving the country to her full potential, come the next general elections in 2023.
Meanwhile, each of the discussants and moderators received a certificate called “Honey Makers” in recognition of their invaluable participation and contribution to nation building through the Freelanews platform.




Later in the evening,The Flea Awards presentation was held, as top individuals and great brands were given accolades for standing tall and significant in what they offer.The event was well attended.

Speaking to Citypeople magazine, the Convener of the epoch event and Publisher/Editor-In-Chief of Freelanews, Victor Ojelabi said the organization is bent on making the event which is holding for the first time, a yearly activity.

He added that his media organization won’t relent on bringing more resourceful hands as guests in subsequent edition of the annual programme. He said that this year’s event was massive as it was able pull the attention of the Honourable Federal Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as Key Note Speaker. Although, he was unavoidably absent, his presence was felt, as he sent his Goodwill Message.


Speaking on the Freela News Leadership and Entrepreneurship Awards (FLEA Awards), the convener said the award is organized to encourage Nigerians to invest in the country as a reducing unemployment as well as impacting greatly in the economy of the land.
