The classy wedding Thanksgiving party was held at the prestigious Nigerian Navy Conference and Event Centre, inside the Naval Dockyard in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs Diekolola Oluwa,who is based in Minneasota,USA.Her mum flew in with her husband for the wedding ceremony.The Bride,Abimbola Lawal is a Harvard alumnus.She attended Harvard University for her 2nd degree.She is a brilliant lady.She was formerly a staff of Shell.She then worked as a Special Assistant to Gov.El-Rufai and now works for a multinational consulting firm.She is a super brilliant mind.
The bride is the last of 4 sisters.Her elder sisters are:Mrs.Ayodimeji Onibokun,Ms Funmi Onabamiro and Ms Ayoola Adetunji.
The Groom also hails from a lovely and reputable family in Abeokuta, the Lawals. Both families are highly influential.
Every aspect of the ceremony was filled with Glitz and Glam. The couple displayed lots of affection for each other in each of the tasks given to them.
A typical example was seen at the cutting of the cake and feeding each other which was done romantically by both couples.
The event began with the Engagement where necessary activities marking the ceremony were done between the couple and their families. This was swiftly followed by the reception party where guests from both families were entertained.
The musical band of the stand was the Kick Rhythm, a highly creative live band in town. Their performance was top notched as they the couples, their families and guests had fun of their life.
Also notable was the entertaining stage drama acted by the drama group from Unicorn Media Productions Limited. The play centred on the event as characters played the role of the couples and their parents. This was followed by an energetic dance showcased by the group. They also sang to praise the couples and their parents. The performance really lit the event as the entire hall was glued to the ecstatic performance.
It was indeed a classy event which saw quite a number of dignitaries as guests. The Chairperson of the event was Mrs. Osaretin Demuren, the first female chairman of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB).
She advised the couple to uphold friendship as it would help keep the marriage intact. She said just as friends quarrel and reconcile with ease, they should always see each other as best friends. She also spoke to the couple to accommodate and respect their in-laws to make their marriage work and stand the test of time.
The ceremony was star studded, as the creme de la creme stormed the classy event.Guests came from the APC and Nigerian Navy.A lot of well known big boys and babes came to honour the 2 families.The deputy Speaker of Lagos came.So also the deputy Chairman of APC,Bashorun Rendlesham who is the Head of the family of the bride.Miss Dupe Majekodunmi looked Glam.
