Oyo Speaker,Rt.Hon.Adebo Ogundoyin Shut Down Ibadan With His Classy Wedding



On Saturday,27th November, 2021, Ibadan stood still as Rt.Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin took his charming wife, Olamidun Majekodunmi to the alter in solemnization of Holy Matrimony.




Rt .Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin is a young, but vibrant law maker in Oyo State.He is the proud son of late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin and Mrs.Justina  Iyabode Ogundoyin of Eruwa town.He is presently the No.3 citizen in Oyo State.He is the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly.



The beautiful bride, Olamidun Ayomikun is the daughter of  popular Egba High Chief, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi and his wife,Hon.Justice Tokunbo Majekodunmi.The wedding has made the two highly respected families become one.They both invited friends, and associates to celebrate with them.

All through last week,

the wedding ceremony was the talk of the town .It was the  wedding of all weddings. 

Three days prior the day of the ceremony,a classic engagement ceremony was held at the International Conference Centre,inside the premises of the premier higher institution, University of Ibadan.This was where the two families and their well wishers had proper engagement activities.



The White wedding  began with the Solemnization of Holy Matrimony between the couple.This was held at the popular All Souls Anglican Church,Bodija, in Ibadan.


The service  pulled quite a huge number of eminent dignitaries like Gov.Seyi Makinde and his Deputy,Engineer Rauf Olaniyan; Gov.Dapo Abiodun from Ogun state;Gov.Rotimi Akeredolu from Ondo state;Gov.Kayode Fayemi from Ekiti who was ably represented; His Excellency,Otunba Gbenga Daniel, among other top politicians from the South West region of the country.


Also at the service were speakers of state assemblies, such as Rt.Hon.Abubakar Suleiman, from Bauchi state;Rt.Honourable Mudasiru Obasa from Lagos;Rt Honourable Afuye from Ekiti state; Rt.Honourable from Ondo State;Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye from Osun State;Rt.Honourable Aminu Abbas from Adamawa; Rt.Honourable Bamidele Oloyelogun and Rt. Honourable Matthew Kolawole.


Royal fathers were also present at the church to grace the epoch event. Notable among them are the Ooni of Ife,HRM Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi;The Alake of Egbaland,HRH Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo;The Olubadan ably represented by his Olori,Oluwo of Iwoland was also represented.HRM Oba Salaudeen Adekunle, the Aseyin of Iseyinland;the Okere of Shaki town, Oba Khalid Olabisi;Oba Festus Adedoyin,the Olugbon of Ilegbon and a host of other royal fathers.


There is an inexhaustible list of high personalities that attended the church event and also graced the reception party.


Activities at the reception party crowned it all.The reception party was held at the Ibadan Polo Club.The venue of the classy event was already filled to the brim as the Alaafin of Oyo,Iku Baba Yeye Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III and his beautiful Olori  were already seated among the special guests.


The glamorous reception party was tagged "Do the Honours".Indeed, it didn't fall short of expectations.Anchoring the ceremony were the combination of King of Comedy and event compere of high repute, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, professionally known as Ali Baba; Gbenga Adeyinka De First;and Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, but popularly known as "KieKie".They all gave the event the need spice to keep it lively.


Juju Icon, Queen Ayo Balogun mounted the stage to sing and entertain mother of the groom Yeye Justina Iyabode Ogundoyin and her friends who turned up for the party in their huge numbers.


The high points of the event were arrival of couples,cutting of the cake,toast to the couple,Groom's mother and son's dance,father and daughter's dance,couples first dance and significant throwing of the bouquet .


The ever classic stage performance of King Sunny Ade and his band was part of what thrilled many of the guests.He sang to wow the guests as some of them gave good account of themselves on the dance floor.
