GATE INITIATIVE CELEBRATES 5TH ANNIVERSARY (MY GATE SUMMIT)





GATE Initiative is a fast-growing global youths led non-profit organisation, with the acronym Gifts, Abilities, Talents and Education. It was founded in 2016 and was awarded winner of the Best NGO Award in Kwara State in 2017.

 

The organisation has positively touched over 5000 lives in different parts of Nigeria with 100 registered ambassadors.

To create a world where youth will be true to themselves and proud of both their talent and educational achievement.

 

THE MISSION

To encourage, educate and empower; children, teenagers, and youths in discovering, developing, and exhibiting their talents alongside balancing it with their education.

 

 OUR AIM

Our core aim is to identify youths with natural and exceptional potentials but lack the opportunity to explore them.

 

Our Focus:

-CHILDREN OUTREACH AND ADVOCACY.

-TEENAGERS SENSITIZATIONS AND OUTREACHES

-TALENTS HUNT, CAMPAIGN AND COACHING

-YOUTH EDUCATION, DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT

 

 

This is achieved through organizing projects that will improve young people's development and empowerment

 

GATE Initiative held an educational and inspiring program on Saturday 23rd, October 2021. @ Divine Step School Hall, 71 Coker Road, Coker Village Orile with the theme: MY GATE SUMMIT. Various schools were invited to grace the occasion.

 

The program commenced some minutes to 11am and it was anchored by M.C Ojoro. The opening prayer was led by one of the special guests in the person of Mr Tayo Osayomi. The people on the high table include Mr Tayo Osayomi (the music teacher of divine step school), Mrs Juliana Ugu (representing Mrs Titilope Ogunluyi (The Asst Commander of NDLEA, Lagos), Mr. Mayowa Oloye (the chairman of the event), Mr Deji Okeowo, Mrs Sarah Okeke (representing Mrs Oluwakemi Ojuri the chairperson of the day)Mrs Okeleye, Mr Ayoola Shonowo, Prophet Solomon Badejo, Venerable Samuel Olufunmilayo and Mrs Olawunmi Orisande.







The welcome address was delivered by the Executive Director of GATE INITIATIVE, Mr Adebayo George

 

He appreciated and acknowledged God almighty for his faithfulness over the years.

 

He also made known that GATE INITIATIVE has been dedicated, committed and consistent in her endeavours, the organization has also been on the ground to effectively cook projects that would be helpful to the growth development of our society.

 

Some of the GATE Initiative projects for 2021 include GATE INITIATIVE SCHOOL STORM,  GATE Initiative Children Outreach, GATE INITIATIVE Skills Ignition,  GATE Initiative Talents Campaign and so on.

 

Statistically, GATE INITIATIVE has impacted, inspired and influenced over 5000 young people both in Lagos, Kwara, Ogun, Ibadan, Calabar and some other communities in which we have our Ambassadors presence.

 

For the year 2021, The Organisation was able to have a week of online training for Teenagers preparing to go the higher institution.

 

The Organisation also collaborated and partnered with numerous organisations, even with just concluded project with The Kehinde Ogundele Foundation in Kwara State, Theme; Giving Ability to the Disables, where braillers were given to the blind section unit of Kwara State School for special needs.

 

The Organisation also Organised Talent development programs that will serve as a means of reducing poverty, unemployment and criminal activities among young people.

 

While delivering the welcome speech, he appreciated the Organisation board of trustees, directors, advisers, Ambassadors, partners, donors and sponsors.

 

The summit was loaded with numerous programs and activities like

Dance Presentation by Divine Step School, Orile, Inspirational Talk By the representative of the Assistant Commander of NDLEA, Lagos(Mrs. Titilope Ogunluyi) on the topic "Healthy living".

 

Mrs. Sarah Okeke who represented the chairperson of the day also gave opening remarks on the topic "MY,GATE, MY GREATNESS". She shook the hall with her soprano singing voice and also inspired the participants to discover, develop and exhibit their talents and also balance it with their education.

 

A Speech Presentation was rendered by Tenderland CollegeOrile.

 

Drama Presentation by Divine Step School.

 

A Dancing Competition was held among the students, 2 students emerged as winners.  GATE Initiative promised to pay 20% of their school fees as a gift to them.

 

Awards Presentation.

 

Awards were presented to recognize, appreciate, celebrate, and encourage some personalities. Some of these personalities include Mr. Felix Iziomoh (Executive Director of International Centre For Leadership Development), Mr. Ayoola David Shonowo (A photographer and volunteer to many non-profits organizations), Mrs. Okeleye Funmilayo (An exceptional teacher).

 

GATE INITIATIVE also appreciated her Ambassadors.

Awards were presented to: Monisola Mustapha, the welfare director of the GATE Initiative, Oluwaseyi Famodun, The Publicity and media director of the Gate initiative and Rekiat Joy Omogbai, the project coordinator for  GATE Initiative, Ibadan.

 

The program ended with a closing remark by the chairman of the day.

It was a very beautiful summit filled with a lot of dancing and facilitation.

 

The students were overwhelmed with joy from the knowledge they have received.

 

The event was Supported by Colombina, 0330 Small Chops, MaryMo Liquid Soap, MBS, Holla lens Celebrance Cocktails, Math Visuals, Trail blazers and so on.
