MANY BIG BOYS NOW GO FOR AWO CAP



































Have you noticed that lately, more and more Big Boys are wearing the Awo Cap? We can tell you that for free. Just keep watch and you will see how more and more celebrity guys are now going for the cap, especially politicians. Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo wears it.

At the recent classy wedding of Segun Awolowo’s daughter, Seun, a lot of Big Boys wore the Awo Cap, made popular by the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Its called the Awo/Tonak Cap. It comes in 3 brands, like the Tonak Fur Caps, Tonak Stripes and the Tonak Classics. It also comes in different colours. For Segun Awolowo’s wedding, it came in Purple. Written inside the cap were these words: This cap was specially made for Olusegun Awolowo on the occasion of his daughter, Oluwaseun’s traditional wedding 22/4/19. When Awo was alive, in those good old days all the men of timber and juggernaut wore the Awo Cap, in support of Awo.

Many of the current Awo Caps are made by Tonak Hats in London, a company founded in 1799. The caps were supplied by Imperial Hats, with shops in London & Lagos. Imperial Hats makes hats for prominent Nigerians. Some of the celebrity men who wear Awo Cap are politicians like Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Gov. Kayode Fayemi, Alhaji Lai Mohamed, Gov. El-Rufai, Senator GOS, Oba Dosumu Akinsiku, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Chief Wale Akinterinwa, Hon. Adeyemi Alli, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Femi Otedola, Senator Tolu Odebiyi and many more.

The beginnings of hat making in Nový Jičín dates back to 1630 when the town council confirmed the articles of the Hat Makers’ Guild. Young journeyman Jan Nepomuk Hückel was admitted to the Nový Jičín Hat Making Guild in 1799 and founded a hat-making shop.
The product quality followed on from the previous handmade standard and they soon asserted themselves on Austrian, as well as international markets. Hückel installed machines in 1865, becoming the founder of machine factory production of fur felt hats.
