ABOUT THE STUDENTS
Kabiyesi Oba Adedokun Abolarin is a great father. The brief background he gave on how he picked on some of the students of Abolarin College was amazing, and actually brought tears out of many guests. Kabiyesi narrated how he picked some of the students from the gutters, garages, markets and many he adopted due to the sudden death of their parents. Before he stretched further, he recognized the presence of Chief Bisi Akande, who he said was amazed of his presence because he only called him on phone. Kabiyesi also appreciated all his colleague-Obas who were there. According to him  “We are doing this because of our tomorrow, some people labored for what we are enjoying today. What will happen in the next 40 and 50 years nobody knows, but we have to lay a good foundation for our children so that they won’t cause us when we might have gone.
If Jesus accepts, I pray in the next 40 to 50 years Yoruba land will not lag behind”.
Speaking further, Kabiyesi talked about how his emergence as the king didn't initially go down well with his family  and tore the family apart 12 years ago.  “When I became King 12 years ago, it was a calamity for my family. They wondered how a lawyer that is doing well will come to this kind of town to be the king. But we thank God the story has changed. He also talked about why he established the school, which he called a movement to unite the Yoruba land.
He called out some of the students of the school who are from different states like, Delta, Igede, Igbomina etc, then gave kudos to all his colleague Obas who also have their children here and has been supporting them. Abolarin College school has students from Ororuwo, Aagba, Otan Aiyegbaju etc.
One thing that amazed all the guests was how Kabiyesi was able to mentioned the names of all the children off hand one after the other, that simply tells that there is a great bond and connection between the children and Kabiyesi, indeed Oba Adedokun is a father.
In conclusion, Kabiyesi charged every individual seated not to be selfish and always try to reach out to the less privileged  “Nigerian Elites are too selfish. If we don’t take care of our children they will not  give us rest.”

Kabiyesi and I have the same peculiarities and one of it is our passion for education. We have the same calling on that and its reflecting today. I therefore encourage every one of us to support Kabiyesi on how to get Abolarin College well equipped, because you can tell Kabiyesi is focused. He knows what he’s doing and he’s doing it diligently.

WHAT CHIEF AKANDE SAID ABOUT KABIYESI
“What we are doing today will surely become history tomorrow. Kabiyesi scared us with his remarks because  he has really done a lot, using his qualities and what he has become, to create a great future for Oke-Ila. But how to let this great gesture, and selfless service go round is left to us and the government. How I wish I’m still in government, but let us continue to support him and remember him in our prayers. The unity of this country is very important, lets work on it.
