It was a new dawn and a
remarkable day for all the indigenes and residents of Egba, as one of the great
sons of the soil and man of the people, Chief Michael Egberongbe bagged one of
the most prestigious chieftaincy titles, Seriki Baasegun of Egbaland while his
amiable wife Chief Mrs. Deborah Oluwatosin Egberongbe became Erelu Baasegun of
Egbaland.
The happy couple had earlier
bagged a chieftaincy title as SARUMI & YEYE SARUMI OF OWU KINGDOM
The event which took place on Sunday, November 19, 2017, witnessed the presence of A-list community stakeholders, influential socialites, and celebrities from all over the world, who came to grace the event and make it a colourful one that the memories will never be forgotten in the history of Egbaland.
The good people of Egbaland endorsed the title bestowed upon the philanthropist and socialite, because of the unquantifiable voluntary services and projects he has executed in the land.
One of the chiefs who spoke with City Peoples correspondent, Sunday Adigun, stated that he knew Chief Egberongbe is worthy of the position/title, considering his unrelenting and immense contribution towards the growth of Egba. "His works speak for him. Also his wife, Chief Mrs. Oluwatosin Egberongbe has also been a pillar of support as well", he said.
