•As Over 500 Young Babes Dazzle @ The Event
All roads in Lagos metropolis led to the Haven Event Centre in Ikeja last week Friday, 29th of September, 2017, as a  top staff of Lagos House of Assembly, Bisola Munis and her siblings buried their Dad in grand style. The 2-day event, kicked off on Thursday 28th of September, at late Clement Olakunle Munis’s beautiful mansion in Ipaja and ran to Friday, when the grand reception took place. City People’s Assistant Society Editor, ABIOLA ORISILE, was at the star-studded burial to serve you the gist.

DECEASED, CLEMENT MUNIS

Pa Clement Olakunle Munis, brother Kekere, was born on 2nd May, 1942, to Francis Olakunle Munis and Veronika Aduke Munis (nee Dasilva). He is the second of four brothers. His elder brother, Mr Francis Adebayo Munis, was, one time,  an accountant –General of Lagos State in the era of Governor Lateef Jakande, while his younger brother, Mr Toyin Munis, was an astute Chartered Accountant. Young Kunle attended the Holy Cross Catholic School, Lagos for his primary  education. 



He continued his education at the famous St Gregory‘s College, Ikoyi. He served as an Altar Boy at the college and a sister-school, Holy Child College, Ikoyi. He was in his final years in school, the editor of the college weekly tabloid, ‘THE MEGAPHONE‘. On completion of his Secondary Education, he took up employment with Ministry of Health before proceeding to United Kingdom for further studies. He studied in Manchester and moved to London to complete his insurance programme. 

He did internship and further training at Glanvill Enthoven, Sentinel Insurance Company and the very well known American International Insurance Company respectively. On his return to Nigeria, he worked with America International Insurance Co, Nig Ltd, now AICO insurance, PLC Broad Street in Lagos for 4 years. He later left to start his insurance outfit “KELMUNER INSURANCE AGENCY. He coined the name from his 2 names Kunle and Munis. Pa Clement Munis, a catholic to the core, was happily married to Mrs Anthonia Adeyinka Munis for 40years. They were blessed with 3 successful children.

TO HER HUSBAND EVEN IN DEATH
If there is anybody who will miss Pa Clement Munis terribly it is no other person than his wife of over 4 decades, Mrs Anthonia Adeyinka Munis. This is because Pa Clement was a doting father and a caring husband. They were close till death. 

Infact, Mrs Munis was the one who took her husband to the hospital before he breathed his last. It didn’t come as a surprise to many when Anthonia made sure her husband wore his gold wedding ring even in death. She also presented to her husband, a white Bible and his rosary, which he always read when he was alive. On special demand, Mrs Anthonia said she wanted to hold  a family thanksgiving for her late husband at their church, St Ferdinand Catholic Church, Boys Town, Ipaja, Lagos. Speaking with Mrs Munis, she revealed that her husband never shown any sign of leaving her. 

Her words were“ July 25th, 2017 started as a normal Tuesday for us. He just complained of heart pains and we took him to Igando Hospital and the rest is history. My husband was my best friend. We ate and jogged together everyday. Whenever I want to go out and I didn’t feel like driving, my husband would drop me off“ and awaited me at the door till I came in. We would chat till wee hours of the morning.

If the dead could, at least, look back, there is, no doubt, that Pa Clement Olakunle Munis would be happy that his children who took care of him  while he was much alive also threw a befitting burial for him after his death. Adeola Munis, the elder sister of Bisola, was the one who led all her siblings to the event. Biosla works with Lagos State House of Assembly, while his elder sister, Adeola, runs one of the biggest fashion shops in Ikeja. She is the CEO of House of Deola, while Femi who is the only son is a Real Estate Guru, who knows his onions.

SHONE AS A STAR
If you  have, in the past,  met Bisola Munis at any event, you will know she is one of those ladies who pay attention to details. Though, you may not  see her at every Tom and Harry event, but Bisola loves to look good. So, also is her elder sister, Adeola Munis. 

At their father’s Wake, they looked stunning in a silver lace from Kubis fabrics run by a Lagos society woman, Kuburat Sokunbi. Many of the guests couldn’t take their eyes off Bisola and Adeola when they stepped into the church with their Mum, looking all glam in full length gowns, which matched their body shapes. 

Their unique hair fascinator matched their attire too, as they adorned the best collections of jewellery. For the grand reception, Adeola and Bisola Munis had no hidden place as they were the cynosure of all eyes in a champagne gold embellished lace strictly bought for the event from Switzerland. BIMMS was the one, who supplied the champagne gold special aso-oke, while Segun Gele was the one who beautifully tied their headgears to fit Bisola and Adeola. The two sisters didn’t spare any cost on their shoes as they spotted one of the collections of luxury Italian shoe maker, RADO.  

As guests were still admiring the champagne gold attire, Adeola and Bisola made a fresh appearance in Ankara aso-ebi, which was also transformed by House of Adeola.

Adeola Munis also didn’t leave any stone unturned to make sure that their father, the Late Pa Clement Munis, had one of the best burials in town. Among Deola’s guests who made it were: Bimbola Adeosun, Isabela Alugbin, Esosa Agbabiaka, Bisola Agbaje, Deola Olusode, Rasheedah Onifade, Jumoke Bishopton, Deola Onifade, Dayo Sobajo, Lara Odebiyi And many others.

HON MUDASIRU OBASA LED LAGOS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY MEMBER
For Pa Clement Munis’s burial, Lagos state House of Assembly members shifted their  base lastweek Friday as they all came out in their numbers to support one of their own, Bisola Munis, who buried her late dad. 

The speaker, Hon Mudasiru Obasa,  led all the members to the event. They were not just early callers; they spent many hours at the event. Among many sighted were the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun, Hon Rotimi Abiru, Hon Fatai Oluwa, Hon Akeem Bello, Hon Fafunwa, Hon Tobun Abiodun, Hon Osun Olarewanju,Hon Famagunwa, Hon Sola Giwa, Hon Sentoji, Hon Victor Akande to mention a few. Hon Desmond Elliot couldn’t make it as he was away to Atlanta, while Hon Oshinowo Pepper,  who was all clad for the event got stuck in traffic.

 DR SADE OKOYA COULDN’T MAKE IT
Mrs Modupe Oguntade, the wife of Nigeria’s new  High Commissioner to United Kingdom (UK),  couldn’t make the event. but she sent hear representative, just as Dr Sade Okoya too.  They would have loved to be there, but because the Okoyas were, playiing  hosts to the Oguntades on Saturday, which was a day after the event.

One of the early callers at the grand reception was Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Minister for Defence. He came in a few minutes past 4pm and a long time before he left at past 6pm. So, also is Senator Bariyu Ashafa, who came in a few minutes past 7pm and spent many hours before he left.

WHO IS AN INTERNATIONAL DJ
Do you know that a Lagos society woman, Alhaja Kuburat Sokunbi, who runs Kubis Fabrics, has a son who is an international Dj? Yes. And this is authoritative. Bolaji Sokunbi is the younger brother of Tosin, who is the daughter of Kubis that runs the  Lekki branch. Bolaji was the official Dj of the day and to say that he knows his onions would be an understatement. He made many of the guests dance for many hours at the burial reception. Bolaji went to University of Derby and read Cyber Security. Let us tell you that his turn table is unique as it comes with lighting.

PRINCESS TOYIN KOLADE AND HER HUSBAND, KAYODE, LOVE IT UP
Princess Toyin Kolade, one of the close allies of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, made the event. Looking glamorous in a white unique feathers lace, she enjoyed the company of her handsome husband, Prince Kayode Kolade. Sighting them together at Bisola Munis father’s burial, you may likely mistake them for a new couple. They were all over each other  as they showed  love at the event. As expected, she came with her caterer, her drinks and shared souvenirs to many  guests. Among many of her guests who came with her were:  Ace broadcaster, Seun Olagunju; Funke Fajunke, Emmanuela Ropo(CEO of Party Dreams), Sade Paramole, Omolara Mustapha, Remi Talabi, K-Glo to mention a few.

At Bisola Munis father’s burial, you couldn’t help but notice her clique of friends, who adorned Ankara aso-ebi with  special designed coffee brown aso-oke. They were all up and doing to make sure the event went as planned. They were led by Funmi Alatise as they all spent many hours, while the event lasted. Among guests sighted were: Mojisola Sulaiman, the Ceo of Dekey event. 

She planned the event from conception to execution. Among her other friends, who supported her were: Bintu Oyolola, who runs one of the biggest Ankara stores at Yaba called Ankara Villa, Yewande Adeleye,Yinka Oredola, Moji Suliman, Yetunde Balogun, Bisola Junaid, Kenny Stabic, Modupe Pitan, Adetoun Isabela, Funmi Alatise, Moji Suleiman, Bintu Oyolola, Yetunde Balogun, Yinka Kasumu, Bisola Fuad, Tanwa Abolaji, Hajia Sade Sadiq, Ade Orodiran, Seye Arimoro, Jibola Owokoniran and many others.

There is no doubt that Bisola Muni’s humility has paid off. Many Lagos big boys came out to celebrate her late father with her. Their table stood out as bottles of expensive champagne were on display. OLOORI SEKINAT ELEGUSHHI AND KOFO ADEBUTU DAZZLED
Oloori Sekinat Aramide Elegunshi, the pretty, queen of King Gushi, Oba Saheed Elegushi, lit up the whole venue a few minutes past 5pm. As expected, she walked in with her husband to honour Lagos babe, Bisola Munis. So, also  was the new Otun Yeye Oge of Lagos, Chief (Mrs) Koforola Adebutu, the wife of a Lagos billionaire, Chief Kesington Adebutu.  As expected, Chief Koforola looked simple in iro and buba but her choice of diamond jewellery, which she adorned  spoke volume of her wealth and love for good things. If you haven’t been told, she loves to wear off rack jewellery, which she always travels far to get.

At the reception, you couldn’t help but notice the champagne fall and the burlesque girls who ushered in guests. They were beautiful girls  at the entrance welcoming guests. 

The burlesque girls  are a  new idea introduced by the Bonix drinks a few years back and since then, they have become a toast of many big wigs in the society whenever they are throwing parties. Also at the event was the palm wine stand, tea stand and many more. We can authoritatively  tell you that she recently won the Drinks vendor of the year at the recently held APPOEMN Awards. She is a leading brand in the drinks vendor business and has been in it for over 2decades. 

She has, through her innovative ideas, become the toast of the big wigs in the society. All this complemented the good and eye-catching decorations, which were done by Dekey Event. She transformed the hall with her white-and-gold decor. Many of the guests would not forget in a hurry the club corner, which she introduced into the event arena. It allows the young at heart guests to mingle before the event proper kicks off.

COMPETITION FOR THE BEST DRESSED @
 BISOLA  MUNI  FATHER’S BURIAL
It was literally a battle and many waited to see who would win the  best dressed award at the reception. It was learnt that most big designers in town were all busy before the D-Day. They were busying sewing and making their best style for their patrons, who were all ready to spend many thousands of Naira to come out best. We can also reveal to you that many spent over 100k sewing the 5k Ankarafabric. 

They all came in different beautiful  stylish stylish and extravagant outfits. Two notable designers, who looked their best were Toyin Lawani of Tiannah’s place and Lola Taiwo of Mak and Ray.Mak and Ray designed Shade BenCash’s Outfit. The flamboyant daughter of a popular Cele prophet and politician, Baba Eto,Oreoluwa Balogun also looked gorgeous. Bintu and her friend were not left out. 


What about Nike Ajiwe, Nike came in looking smashing as she adorned her Ankara with an expensive purple lace. She was also spotted wearing the same gold with her friend. The Munis sisters, Adeola and Bisola Munis stole the show with their outfits for the night. 

They were the toasts for that night as their designs were extraordinary. It was designed by Adeola Munis Fashion House  called “House of Deola“. Others who also contested the best dressed award are Mojisola Sulaiman, Bisola Junaid, Adetoun Adesope, Blessings Ajede, Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Tomori, Yejide Etti-Otusanaya, Joke Jasmine, Nike Thomas, Hope Fashion Mrs Ope Okewale, and Yemisi Taomu.

K1 PERFORMED TILL WEE HOurs
Again the King of Fuji Music and the Fuji Lord himself lived up to his name  as he enthralled the guests with his sonorous music. King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, whom Bisola Munis addresses as my Daddy came in a  few minutes past 3pm looking all clam in a Navy blue strip cotton which looked so well on him. The attire was sewed by an  Ibadan celebrity designer, Bashy Kuti. Many guests were on their feet for hours as K1 took charge. It took the management of the event centre to stop the show as many of his teeming fans became Oliver Twist, as they kept asking for more.

WHO DID WHAT
Best hands in event planning and management were employed to handle Pa Clement Munis, burial. Dekey Event was the one who transformed the body, while the CEO of Ebony Casket, Dehinde Harrison and his boys handled the burial of Baba’s remains.  One of the best white casket was also used to honour Baba. Shelet Catering, Finger King, LomeedAR  were all there. It was also souvenirs rain as many Lagos big babes took turns to share expensive souvenirs to guests.
