The atmosphere on
Friday, July 28, 2023,
was filled with class and glamour as music promoter Kayode Omotosho, also
known as Bebeto,
laid his mother to rest and commemorated his father's 20th remembrance
anniversary in a stylish manner.
The colourful
party, held at Solam Event
Centre, Oluyole Estate, Ibadan was indeed a celebration of
life and a life well spent by Mrs
Onaolapo Omotosho
and Pa David
Omotosho.
While late Pa David Omotosho died
20 years ago, Mama
Onaolapo Abike Omotosho passed on January 27, 2023, at
age 86. They are survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Omotoshos are all successful, doing wonderfully well in their various choosing careers. One of them is Kayode Omotosho (Bebeto).
Bebeto is an ex-footballer and a
well-known and respected music
promoter on both local and international scenes. This
explains why top celebrities from within and beyond the shores of Nigeria
stormed the party in their numbers.
It was a
gathering of the crème de la crème in the society. Trust Bebeto, as an
excellent host that he is, he made sure everything was in place.
From the choice
of venue, decorations, and catering to the entertainment of guests, everything
about the party exuded class, glamour and quality taste that Bebeto represents.
Afro Juju
crooner, Sir Shina Peters
was on bandstand. He really gave a good account of himself with his
electrifying performance. Let me add that, Shina Peters' stage craftsmanship is
still intact.
Jane
Anibijunwon
of Annie J Event Planners
coordinated the planning of the party while popular standup comedian, Taiwo Olusanya aka MC Obama, anchored the
party.
In fact, to say
the party was a well-planned one would be an understatement. All to eat and to
drink were made available abundantly.
Meanwhile, other
highlights of the party, apart from Sir
Shina Peters's electrifying performance, were the
incredible displays from the Yoruba
Akewi and
David Abraham's Xplicit
Dancers Crew. They all held the guests spellbound while
their performances lasted.
It must also be
noted that Bebeto's beautiful wife, Romoke Kaffy Omotosho
was a perfect hostess at the party. Her mother, Mrs Alagba also came through for her
son-in-law, Bebeto.
Bebeto's close pal, Dotman, CEO Dotex Motors,
also played a major role at the party. Dotun was on his feet throughout the
party, he made sure all guests were taken care of.
Some of the top
dignitaries at the party were Yeye
Olawumi of the Diganga Hotel fame in Ile-Ife; Seyi Ogunwale aka Pari; Jide
Olowookere, an IT guru from UK; Tunde Ilori from Germany; Hon. Kunbi from
Ile-Ife; Linda Ajani (Yeye Sewa); Barr. KK Ajose (Yeye Amofin) Alhaja Abiola
