A few days ago, Yusufu Olatunji, popularly called Baba
Legba, came alive in Ibadan.
It was at the 44th Yusufu Olatunji (Baba l'Egba) 2022 Fidau/Lecture/Luncheon sessions held at the Omo Ajorosun Club, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday, 15th December 2022.
The Fidau was led by Aleefa AbdulRasheed Adeleke Olundegun, the Imam of Oyetunji Olundegun Family, Isale 'Jebu, Ibadan and Alhaji Kola Ibrahim the Imam of Ekerin Ajengbe Mosque Ibadan.

REMEMBERING
OLATUNJI, KING OF SAKARA, first published in The Guardian newspaper issue of
3rd August, 2001, written 21 years ago, by the current Editor of The Guardian
on Sunday newspaper, Kabir Alabi-Garba, while Chief Lekan Alabi also read his
article: "REMEMBERING YUSUFU OLATUNJI, DOYEN OF SAKARA MUSIC, published in
his column in the City People magazine edition of 28th December 2014".

Baba l'egba was an older friend of my late father, Pa
AbdulRahim Oladosu Alabi, alias"Right Time".
Chief Lekan Alabi's Mother, Mama Mopelola Abeje, called in on
phone during today's session to pay her tribute.
She recalled that Baba
l'Egba's Sakara group played at Chief Lekan Alabi's naming ceremony on Friday, 3rd
November 1950 and the band was on stage for three consecutive days. Late Chief
Lekan Salami was the Master of Ceremonies at the naming party.
Fans of Baba l'Egba from Oyo, Ogun and Lagos States, the UK and USA attended this year's programme, while the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) BCOS-TV, CITY PEOPLE, CELEBRITY MAGAZINE, SPACE 90.1FM, AGIDIGBO FM/TV covered the event.
