On Tuesday 3rd May 2022; the popular Ijebu Family, Koiki, gathered at the Surulere Local Government in Lagos to hold a Fidau prayer and 40 years remembrance celebration in memory of their father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The large open ground in Surulere Local Government was graced with a large marquee and was beautifully decorated by Tiamiyu Fatai Ola (Friends &Partner) and his crew. At the entrance, a large green carpet was graced with a beautifully decorated backdrop carrying the pictures of Late Alhaji Mojeed Omotayo Koiki. Beneath the marquee Friends&Partner lavishly adorned the table sets with props dropping hints of all shades of green all through the marquee.
Family members and guests began to arrive dressed in a floral green Ankara material. As soon as the officiating clerics arrived, the large Family of Late Alhaji Mojeed Omotayo Koiki took their seats. The Fidau prayer started with Alfa Muhammad Faruq reading from the Holy Quran.
The Fidau Prayer was led by Imam Muhammad Quazeem Lukeman. Prayers and thanksgiving were done by the deceased children, Then Imam Oluwseyi ended the sessions with prayers for each of the children of the deceased which included Alhaji Ayodeji, Late Ade, Ola, Governor, Lekan, Laide, Sunbo, Taiwo and Kehinde, Dele, Tunde, Layi, Jumoke, Biola, Honorable Olaseni, and Omotola Koiki.
After
this, the remembrance celebration went into full gear. Mc Wale Omo Ibadan
immediately took the stage to recognise the presence of dignitaries which included Hon Sulaiman, Chairman Surulere Local Government, Hon Wole Aina, Alhaja Sherifatu Ajiboye
Yusuf, Hon Femi Olaseyinde, Hon Sola Oyekunle, Hon Akeem Adeyemi, Hon Rotimi Ogunwuyi,
and Chief Mrs. Rebecca Onasanya. The presence of the Koiki Descendant Society
and Constant Elite Society were also acknowledged.
With this,
Mc Wale Omo Ibadan then greased the atmosphere with laughter. Shortly
afterward, Arike Akewe then took the microphone to sing some dirge for the
deceased while eulogising the deceased and his beloved family members. After
Arike's beautiful performance, the Glorious band began to play music of all genres
after which Dj Shegzy filled the air with songs from the popular Ebenezer Obey
who was the favourite celebrity of the Alhaji Mojeed Omotayo Koiki before his
passing.
After a few
tracks from Ebenezer Obey's album, the Glorious band again took the stage to sing
praises for all 15 children of the Late Alhaji Mojeed Omotayo Koiki.
