On Friday 29th October, 2021, one
of the prominent Kogi families in Lagos, Orugun laid their wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs Eunice Folake Abiodun Orungun to rest in
Lagos.
It was a great day for the family
especially for one of her daughters, popular UK based Event planner,
Oluwabukola Alaba Caroline,popularly called Ebony Queen and her siblings as
they gave their mum a befitting burial.
According to Ebonyqueen, in her
tribute,her mum was an epitome of beauty to behold and she will be greatly
miss"My Mother ! You were gone before I knew it and only God knew why. You
never said you were leaving not to talk of saying goodbye. You were my mother,
my sister, my friend and everything, An epitome of beauty to behold, such to be
admired predominantly. Mummy mi you
live, love, laugh, learn and leave legacy. You did all this and much more.
Mummy you touched hearts and changed lives, loves leaves a memory no one can
steal. I love you dearly even in your death. You taught me to love God and I
have learnt and given me strength to hold on to hope. Mummy no one can ever
replace you, you are one in a billion. I carry you with me, by me, in me, the
touch you lit will burn forever".
The rites of passage began with
the Christian wake keep at her residence in Iju Ishaga,while the funeral
service took place at Redeemed Christian of God in Obalende, before she was
finally laid to rest at the Ebony Vault, in Ikoyi. Entertainment of guests
followed immediately at Blue Ribon event center at Abule-Egba.
At the reception,the hall was beautifully decorated with a touch of
white and blue and it was filled to the brim. Many dignitaries came to
support Ebony queen and her siblings.
The event was nothing short of a cultural
spectacle,as family members, friends, captains of industries, political
leaders cutting across all parties were full-on the ground, decked in rich
apparel.
Ebony Queen Events took care of
the whole ceremony. From the security to the food vendors,she packaged it
all. And there was enough to eat and drink.
Guests were later treated to a
wining and dining session. Bidemi Olaoba and his 'And the bible says'
band,thrilled guests and the celebrant
danced with her friends and
family.
