CityPeople Celebrates London Based Naija Actor & Singer, Michael Gbenga Oshin.

He is one of the accomplished actors in Nollywood in LondonMichael Gbenga Oshin, is an Actor, Singer and Songwriter." I am also an operational security professional, specialising in Close Protection and Counterterrorism, "he told CityPeople.

"Where the movie industry and my career stand, are both very high in my priorities. It's a career I wanted from when I was young but was steered in other directions, including the military. Yes, I'm a retired Army officer, but  God saw it fit for me to take it up at the appropriate time, through the intervention of Nelson Spyke, Doyin Amodu, Doyin Ola and various other persons to whom I owe a great debt of gratitude."

" It hasn't been easy, however, trying to juggle being an actor with the day job, but through the mercy of God we manage."

Where was he born? Where did he grow up? "I was born in Lambeth, South London, to an Ijebu father and an Ondo State mother. I  attended St. Annes Primary School in Vauxhall and then Sacred Heart Secondary school in Camberwell. I was a happy child for a while but then I took that for granted and became a real South London child, earning myself deportation to Nigeria courtesy of the immigration service of Daddy dearest. Whilst in Nigeria, I reaffirmed myself with God and my love of music and the arts.  Subsequently or should I say consequently, upon graduation from my Diploma in Electronic Engineering I gained employment with NTA 7 in Tejuosho Lagos and this brought about my first encounter with the cream of Nigerian entertainment."

"I returned to British shores in the summer of 1989 and embarked upon finding myself again both musically and in the acting sector. I registered with various modelling agencies and took part in many open mic sessions gaining recognition from various well-known names.

The rest they say is history."
