EGBE JAGUNMOLU OBINRIN T2 (STAINLESS) AKILE IJEBU MARKS 21ST ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE


The joy of members of Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin T2 (stainless) Akile Ijebu knows no bound as the popular age group in Ijebu land with members from far and wide celebrated its 21st year anniversary.

It was on a Sunday 25th July, 2021. The anniversary party was held in style at the popular Conference Hotel in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State with an appreciable number of royal fathers and dignitaries in attendance. They came to identify with the group of women of substance known for doing great things in Ijebu and beyond.

The group has come a long way as its 21years of existence meant a lot to not only members but also to Ijebu land and its people. This is part of the reasons the Awujale of Ijebu land, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Adetona (CFR) sent his special royal blessings to the esteemed age group on its anniversary. 




In 2000, just like yesterday, the group of women was endorsed by the Awujale, even a year earlier than when their male counterparts were granted endorsement. Since then, the Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin has been operating as one of the full fleshed and highly revered age groups in the land. It is a known and very relevant age group in the entire Ijebu land. Being a formidable age group made up of society and vibrant Ijebu women born between January 1965 and December 1967, the group is committed, never derailed in the cause of contributing its quota towards the development the Ijebu land. 




The group keeps many top social groups in the land on their toes. Just like its male counterpart, Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin enjoys a long list of classy women and socialites who have achieved a lot in their respective businesses.

Citypeople was at the classic 21st anniversary of the egbe. Sit back and relax to enjoy the full gist of the entire event.

HIS EXCELLENCY, OTUNBA GBENJA DANIEL FELICITATES WITH THE EGBE
Former Governor of Ogun state, His Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel is the Baba Egbe of Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin T2 (Stainless). This shows how great the group is. The congratulatory message sent by OGD speaks volume.And it reads:

“Hearty congratulations on the 21 st Anniversary of our prestigious ‘Egbe Jagunmolu T2 (Stainless) Akile Ijebu. The impact and success of this great society is worthy of recommendation to women empowerment and development which I am proud of."
My candid message to you all is to keep up the good moral uprightness which you have demonstrated at all times."

MEET THE IYALODE OF THE EGBE 

 Jagun Hamdallat Oluwatoyin  Sanni Abdullah is the Iyalode Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin Akile Ijebu. She is a highly influential society woman whose leadership style is worth emulating. She’s a no nonsense person. No wonder she has succeeded in keeping the group together right from its inception.

SUMMARY OF THEIR IYALODE’S SPEECH

Jagun Hamdallat Oluwatoyin  Sanni Abdullah was full of thanks to God Almighty for keeping the group together and making them this great. She extended her appreciation to her ever supportive husband. 
Also she extolled His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and his wife Her Excellency, Yeye Olufunke Gbenga Daniel for being the bedrock of the group and the numerous achievement they have made over the years. She went further to thank members both in Nigeria and abroad for their relentless dedication and commitment towards making Egbe Jagunmolu great and worthy of emulation in the entire Akile Ijebuland. She singled out the Iya Egbe, Akeweje and the group’s adviser for always being there for the group. 
She therefore mention a few and most recent of their projects as the renovation and painting of the Ijebu Ode Central Mosque, digging of bore hole to provide drinkable water for communities within Akile Ijebu, supporting motherless babies homes and extending financial support to religious houses. She said the group won’t relent in its cause to add value to lives of the Ijebus stating it’s a known fact that Egbe Jagunmolu Stainless is rated as the best among all the women Regberegbes in the entire Akile Ijebu.  







THE SPARKLING BUT LOVELY ASO-EGBE WORN BY MEMBERS THAT GOT PEOPLE TALKING

The dress code of the group was a glittering luxury sequence lace. The colour goes with their official colour which is Blue and Warm red or fire red. All members of the group styled with different golden accessories to complement their outfits.  Right from far distance you would be marveled at the stuff the glittering material is made of. Getting closer even makes you appreciate it better. It was really a bling bling outing for them.  

CUTTING OF THE ANNIVERSARY CAKE

The cutting of the anniversary cake came at the middle of the party, when the fun was getting to its peak. The MC invited the entire member of the group to the podium for the cutting of cake. The anniversary cake was a masterpiece of creativity. It was a 3-step cake designed in white with touches of gold around it. They traditional beads with a rose flower placed at its front. Right at it top a giant number 21 written in gold. It has a card on it starting “EGBE JAGUNMOLU OBINRIN T2 (STAINLESS) AKILE IJEBU (1965-1967)” and another card carrying the logo of the group. The cake was so inviting that seeing it from far distance would make you come closer to have a full glance of it to appreciate it better. A closer look would further arouse the urge to have a bite.  Members of the group gladly approached the podium in their large numbers to cut the cake marking another year of advancement of the group. After the cake was cut, they took several photo sessions while ace Apala Musician, Musiliu Ishola gave them some music to dance to.

MUSILIU HARUNA ISHOLA STOLE THE SHOW

Stealing the show of the day was the performance of popular Apala musician, Musiliu Haruna Ishola. He is a popular and veteran Apala musician and son of late Apala legend, .His music exploit has made him one of the most sought-after Musicians by top socialites. He is one of those who keeping the Apala brand of music intact and ensuring it never go into extinction. He spiced up the party as his music made many dance away their inner worries.

NOTABLE AGE GROUPS AT THE PARTY

The party was a very colourful one. It was flooded by numerous social groups. Most of them were seen dressed in their respective attires and colours epitomizing the uniqueness. Notable among them are Egbe Jagunmolu Asiwaju Okunrin Akile Ijebu, Egbe Arabayo Akile Ijebu, Egbe Tobalase Rontex, Egbe Bobamayegun Obinrin  Aremo Alara and many others.

ROYAL FATHERS WHO GRACED THE EVENT

The party was really grand and elegant. It hosted 6 notable royal fathers in Ijebuland. Their presence gave the event a special status among other events held in the period. The kings at party include; Eleruwon of Eruwon, Eleruwon of Eruwon Ijebu, Oba Adebayo Okunbena; Olikire of Okeni Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Banjo; Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo, Oba Engr Isiaka Olajide Ajede; Olokine of Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo, Oba Abdulrasheed Abayomi Olusesan Banjo; Olowu of Odolowu Aiyepe-Ijebu, Oba Adewale Shobowale; Sadererin of Isoyin-Ijebu, Oba Abdul Rasheed Omotayo Salami; Elese of Ilese Kingdom, Oba Oluremi Owolabi Obayomi and Elemuren of Emuren, Oba Adesegun Bolaji Alowonle. 







WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EGBE JAGUNMOLU 

Egbe Jagunmolu is a prominent group among the Ijebu Regberegbe units. It is an association of people born between 1965 and 1967. The Egbe was named “Jagunmolu” to reference the civil war fought in Nigeria then as those were the babies born within the period Nigeria stood firm to fight the succession attempt by the Biafrans and keep the country together. The Awujale thereby name the age group, Egbe Jagunmolu. 

It will interest you to know that just like other groups, Egbe Jagunmolu has the male and female version operating separately but working towards a greater Ijebu land. Traditionally, the head of an Egbe of this nature is Giwa for the male group and Iyalode for the female. They enjoy the mandate of ruling for life.

The official colour of this group of esteemed women is royal blue and warm red. They so much pride in what the coulours gives when blend together. 





BOND AMONGST MEMBERS OF THE JAGUNS

There is an unrivalled bond that exists amongst members of the Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin T2 (Stainless) Akile Ijebu. This is evident in the way every members of the group related with one another. They all came to the venue long before the arrival of their guest. They were already dressed in the same fabrics, looking radiant and ready to party. Of course it’s their day. As expected, they took lots of pictures together. Truly the Jaguns are very strong and united. They don’t joke with the welfare of one another. This was also noticed by the MC of the day as he affirmed it by saying they all look alike and that it might be difficult to identify each member due to the scintillating looks. No wonder the group adopts “Ifelodun” as its motto understanding the significance of true love in their existence.
