The wedding was huge, as it attracted all the creme-de-la-creme in society. Very many important dignatries across Nigeria converged in Ibadan from Abuja, Lagos, Abeokuta and other major cities in Nigeria, as Governors, Senators, Federal Lawmakers, State Assembly Members, Businessmen, Traders, all attended, to honour Madam Jumlar, the biggest rice merchant in Nigeria whose real name is Chief Mrs. Ibilola Solaja from Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun State. The bride’s family is Alhaji Fatai Kola Salami and Alhaja Balikis Olaide Lawal from Ibadan.
Below, City People reveals a blow-by-blow account of the superlative wedding that attracted close to 3,000 guests. All around the Liberty Stadium area, beside Shoprite stores, on Ring Road, Ibadan was on lock down, for close to 10 hours on that day.

WHY THE CHOICE OF IBADAN
The bride, Adedoyin Zaynab Salami, is from Ibadan. Her parents, Alhaji Fatai Kola Salami & Alhaja Balikis Olaide Lawal are from Ibadan. That was why Ibadan witnessed a beehive of activity that Sunday, 28th April, 2019. Jogor Centre in Ibadan came alive when the bride’s family made up of Alhaji Kola Salami & Alhaja Balkis Olaide Lawal and Groom’s family made up of Mr. Dotun Solaja and Chief Mrs. Ibilola Solaja held a classy wedding for their children, Adedoyin Zaynab Salami and Hon. Olayinka Bowale Solaja.
It was a star-studded wedding, as top government functionaries like Governors, Senators, Lawmakers, business people, traders, celebrities all gathered to honour Madam Jumlar who is a celebrated Rice Merchant.
1 wedding, 2 event halls
The Wedding took place at the 2 available halls at Jogor Centre. Both Hall A and B were filled to capacity. The Nikkah took place at the smaller hall, whilst the reception/party took place at the bigger hall.
1 wedding, 4ivs
The 2 families printed about 4ivs that were sent out to guests. There was a Big Life-size IV meant for VVIPS. There were also 2 other IVS meant for other guests.
1 wedding, 4 aso-Ebis
The wedding had several aso-ebi’s picked by the 2 families. The Grooms family took 2 aso-ebis. There was the green Swiss sequined lace (HOH) that went for N300,000 along with aso-oke gele of N50,000 making the total package to be N350,000.
The 2nd is the Green velvet sequined lace of N50,000. The brides family also took their own aso-ebi.
KSA SINGS 30 EVERGREEN SONGS
Celebrities who usually invite KSA to play at their events know why they do so. Its because they want to listen to good music. And at the Jumlars wedding, KSA gave a good account of himself. He kept all the guests on their feet. He sang 30 evergreen songs dating back to the 70s and the whole hall went wild.
LADI ADEBUTU’S NAIRA RAIN
There is no doubting the fact that popular Ogun politician, Hon. Ladi Adebutu is stupendously rich. His father is even richer. Baba Ijebu has money that surpasses Ladi several times over. At the Jumlar wedding party, Ladi sprayed and sprayed and many gave up counting after he sprayed close to N3 million.
Immediately he got on stage to spray Groom’s mother, he brought out 10 bails of N1,000 notes and he exhausted it. He then called for reinforcement of another 10 bails of N1,000 which he sprayed on KSA. After he exhausted that he brought out another round of 10 bails which he sprayed on all the celebrity women dancing with him. It was at that point that guests stopped counting.
OYO 1ST LADY, VERY VISIBLE
Oyo 1st Lady, Chief Mrs. Florence Ajimobi was there, all through the event, which started at about 11am and went on till past 9pm. She is close to the bride’s mother. The bride’s family is from Ibadan. She joined the bride’s mum in dancing into the hall during the reception. Mrs. Ajimobi went round to greet many of the guests who are her friends. She moved around freely armed with her lovely smile.
SO MRS. AJIMOBI CAN DANCE?
Many do not know that Oyo 1st Lady loves to dance. We can tell you she is a good dancer. All through the event. She danced on her chair, rocking all the Gospel tunes played at the party. She danced to KSA’s music also.
IBADAN CELEBRITIES STORMED WEDDING
Though the wedding took place in Ibadan, many Ibadan celebrities came for the wedding. Oloye Akin Fijabi was there. Chief Oyelade was there. And so many other Ibadan celebrities.
THERE WAS SO MUCH TO EAT & DRINK
There was so much food to eat and drink. There were about 20 caterers supplying all the delicacies you can think of. Small chops was not left out. Chief Mrs. Alex Tinuke-Oni’s Piesces Caterers was there. So also Malas. Boladel was also actively involved.
PRINCESS TOYIN KOLADE DAZZLED THEM
Everybody knows how Iyalaje Apapa, Prince Toyin Kolade rocks parties. She does not go to parties all alone. She goes with a minimum of about 10 guests. She goes with her Caterers and coolers of exotic drinks. Her table is usually like a mini party, within the main party. She was on her feet throughout, dancing to KSA. She came with 2 traditional rulers from Osun State, representing the Ooni of Ife.
IJEBU IGBO OBAS STORM IBADAN
The bride’s mother, Madam Jumlar is from Ijebu-Igbo. She is said to be a nice person, especially to all those from Ijebu-Igbo. Because of her nice gesture, all the Obas from Ijebu-Igbo came.
EKITI GOVERNOR & WIFE SPENT HOURS
Ekiti Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi hardly rocks parties. But he and his lovely wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi spent over 5 hours at the wedding. Since his 2nd tenure, Gov. Fayemi has been attending social functions more because it allows him connect with the people.
GOV. AMOSUN WAS BUSY WITH HIS TELEPHONE
Ogun Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun came without his pretty wife, Olufunsho. He came with many of his aides. He sat on the oval table reserved for Governors. But he was busy with his mobile phone throughout. He led top Ogun State functionaries who came to honour Madam Jumlar.
The Groom is an Ogun Lawmaker. That is why Ogun Speaker was there, with so many other lawmakers.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN CHAIRS
The chairs that were used for the reception yesterday were Special golden chairs with white seats. It doesn’t come cheap. Each went for about N5,000 each and there were about 2,000 of such in the reception hall.
THE RECEPTION HALL WAS WELL DECORATED
Everyone who stepped into the big hall where the reception was held were amazed at the immaculate and mindblowing decoration done in white. It was done by Victoria F.
ADEKUNLE GOLD, SMALL DOCTOR & QDOT WOWED GUESTS
KSA was not the only star artiste that performed. Whilst KSA was the main artiste, other Hip-Hop stars were invited to thrill guests, especially the couple. There were 2 stages. There was a stage on which KSA performed. And the 2nd stage was done in white. That is where the couple sat. Adekunle Gold performed there. He thrilled the couple. Then came Small Doctor who wowed the bride. Qdot nailed it. The DJ was not left out. DJ was DJ Secxy.
GBENGA ADEYINKA & YINKA SALAU ANCHORED
There was no dull moment throughout the reception, as Gbenga Adeyinka & Yinka Salau did a brilliant job as MCs. Both are good hands. Gbenga is an ace comedian, whilst Yinka is a damn good actor.
AKINWUNMI ADESHINA ALSO CAME
Former Agriculture Minister, Mr. Akinwunmi Adeshina came with his wife. Both stayed till late. He is now the AFDB President.
SENATOR KAKA & LEKAN MUSTAPHA LED IJEBU IGBO POLITICIANS
All the notable Ijebu Igbo politicians were there, from former Ogun East Senator, Gbenga Kaka to new Ogun East Senator, Lekan Mustapha. So many other politicians came.
BETWEEN OLUGBON & HIS OLOORI
No A-Class party is complete now without the attendance of HRM Oba Alao, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon and his petite wife, Oloori Olusola Alao. The Oba is one of the Kings with swags. Both of them attend parties together. Hardly do you see Kabiyeesi without his Oloori. Both were at the wedding.
SO, TINUBU’S DAUGHTER CAN DANCE?
Not many people know that Iyaloja General, Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu can dance so well. She dazzled everyone on stage at the reception with her dance. She danced non-stop for 1 hour in front of KSA, as she rained crisp naira notes on him.
BAMANGA TUKUR’S WIFE, HAJIA FATIMA DAZZLED
Hajia Fatima Bamanga-Tukur is the pretty wife of former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. She is pretty and stylish too. And she is blessed with a traffic-stopping figure. She is friends with Madam Jumlar. She flew into Ibadan from Abuja with her friends numbering about 5 to support her friend. And she dazzled KSA with wads of crisp N1,000 notes when KSA struck a cord with his old time anthem for her husband.
ALL THE BIG BOYS STORMED IBADAN
Ibadan was the place to be last Sunday for all the Big Boys, as they fell in, one after the other. Lamex came in with Lord Mayor Akinpelu (Global Excellence Publisher). Ibadan Big Boy, Gbenga Obembe was there too. Senator Gbenga Obadara came. Tunde Akinyera was there too.
MADAM JUMLARS LOVE FOR KSA REVEALED
Many don’t know that Rice Merchant, Madam Jumlar herself loves to dance to KSA’s music. She danced and danced to his music all through.
IT WAS A BEEHIVE OF CELEBRITY LADIES
The event had in attendance about 1,000 well dressed celebrity ladies. The list is long and unending. There was Alhaja Risi Kolex, Funke Akinyera, Joke Sogunro, and many others.
THE 3 VIPS WHO PLAYED KEY ROLES
They are Ibadan High Chief Oyedoyin Oyelade, who was the Chairman of the Day. Ogun Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun was the father of the day. And then, Oyo 1st Lady, Chief Mrs. Florence Ajimobi. The reasons for their choice is not far fetched. Bride’s family is from Ibadan. Groom’s family is from Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun State. Chief Mrs. Ajimobi & Bride’s mother, Alhaja Balikis Olaide Lawal are close.
IYA IBETA ARRIVED EARLY
Veteran Aso-Oke matriarch, Iya Ibeta at Gbagada area of Lagos was one of the early arrivals. She was looking ageless. She is an Aso-Oke guru. She makes the very best Aso-Oke. She made the Aso-Oke for the wedding. She is known for her evergreen Aso-Oke.
