If you meet Chief Mrs. Silifat Atinuke Abioro for
the very first time, you will not know she is over 70. This is
because she has been ageing gracefully. She is a Prophetess at
the Celestial Church of Christ at the HOREB Cathedral in
Ikeja (2) on Thomas Salako Street at Ogba in
Lagos. Over the years, she has maintained her good looks which
saw late Chief Abioro fall in love with her decades back. At over
70, she has been able to maintain her good looks and has remained
Stylish. Not many people will believe if they know that Chief
Mrs. Silifat Atinuke Abioro is over 70. She
does not look it one bit. This is because this elegant stallion of a woman has
kept her figure instant and her good looks. She is also very industrious.
Lets tell you a little about this woman born into the royal family
of Late Alhaji Gbadamosi Popoola and Mrs.
Aduke Popoola at Bere Square, Ibadan. Like the royal
princess that she is, she wears royal crowns and garments, which propells her
to achieve royal strides anywhere she steps into. Her brilliant performances at
St. Mary Catholic School and Girls Grammar School where
she did her Primary and Secondary Education respectively,
are indications of the qualitatitive stuffs she is made of.
A woman driven by passion and love for humanity, Chief Dr.
(Mrs.) Silifat Atinuke Abioro went to University College Hospital,
UCH School of Nursing Ibadan, where she trained as a Registered
Nurse. One interesting thing about her is that she has a determined
heart to please everybody even at the expense of her pleasures. Though she had
a new love for secretarial studies, she had to work as a nurse to
please her late father who was a retired Chief Nursing Officer.
Having satisfied the yearnings of her beloved father, she travelled to the United
Kingdom to embrace her new love. She then attended Pitman’s
College, Southampton, London and qualified as a Confidential
Secretary.
To properly position herself for the tasks ahead, she also attended
MidKent University, Maidson, United Kingdom and
graduated with Teacher Diploma in Secretarial Studies.
Her qualifications are backed up with practical experiences. After graduating
from Pitmans College, she worked with Rank Xerox in Kings
Cross in UK, as a Confidence Secretary. She
brought skills and talents home in order to partake in the development
processes.
For three memorable years, she worked as a Confidential
Secretary to the Managing Director of Midland and
Mansfield Insurance Company, Ibadan. After that, she became the Personal
Assistant/Training Manager of the Chairman of Executive
Secretarial Bureau. The track records she left in her previous jobs saw
her to Guinness Nigeria Plc as a Confidential Secretary to
the Financial Controller. Due to her shining excellence and
managerial skills, she rose to the post of Administrative Manager in
the Accounts Department of the Company.
Her widening focus and profound intellect could not accommodate Chief
Dr. (Mrs.) Silifat Atinuke Abioro status at Guinness.
She, therefore, resigned voluntarily in 1982 for personal
initiative. Siltina Executive Secretarial Institute at Ikeja,
Lagos became her brainchild. Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Silifat
Atinuke Abioro also established another Secretarial
School that was a centre for Pitmans Examinations. She
was also the Sole-Representative of the Society of Teachers
in Business Education with headquarters in London.
Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Silifat Atinuke Abioro is a rare personality. Her ideas and initiative get fresher and
brighter as she advances in age. She is very energetic and always on the moving
terrains. Her abilities are so beautiful as her physical appearances and her
heart is as big as her staff. She has functioned as Director in
all her late husband’s Companies, like Modern Domus,
TYC Records and African Songs. Currently, Chief
Dr. (Mrs.) Silifat Atinuke Abioro is the distinguished Executive
Chairman of Record Manufacturers of Nigeria Limited
- The leading master in Cassettes and Records production
before diversifing into record flex and rubber manufacturing.
Chief Atinike Abioro has
always been a successful Educator, and a career woman all her life. Her
glittering impact in industrial and economic development is as sparkling as
diamond. As a way of appreciation, the Kabiyesi Oba Ilo of Ikeja, conferred
her with the title of Yeye Boroji of Ikeja. She is also a Chief
of Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, the Osinle of Egba. She was
the Matron of Civil Defense and Security Corps, Lagos State.
In addition, she was awarded
a Certificate of Honour at the award ceremony of Association
of Business Administration Students. Chief Mrs. Atinuke Abioro
is a Philanthropist. She is the Matron of her Church Choir,
life Matron of three Celestial Churches and
a Community Leader. She has been the President of
her Resident Association for sixteen years. A friendly mother and
wife. Her hobbies include praying, singing, reading and dancing. She is an Author
of Excellence, by the grace of God she has published many
