OYO Showers Encomium on Hon. RAJI KAZEEM KOLAWOLE Over New Appointment As Executive Director, Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd



Saturday, 30th September 2017, has become a memorable day in the life of Hon. Raji Kazeem Kolawole as friends, associates and members of his family gathered at Princess Event Centre, Alagbon Area, Oyo town, to celebrate the great achiever.

It was an occasion that would forever be remembered as friends used the opportunity of the occasion to charge the appointee on the best way to ensure that the opportunity of his new appointment was effectively utilised to the advantage of Oyo youths.



Mr Saka Akeem (Abu Anif) who gave brief address on the purpose of gathering charged Hon. Raji K.K to justify the mandate given to him by the Federal Government of Nigeria through dedication to effective service delivery and youth empowerment. According to Mr Saka , the programme wouldn't have come up, if not for the encouragement and financial support provided by Barrister Oye Oyedemi Wakil, a US based Solicitor and a former NAOS National President.

Mr Saka explained that the initiator of the idea of the reception, Barrister Oye Oyedemi Wakil justified the essence of the programme that the gathering was to create an avenue for youths and friends to felicitate with Hon. Raji K.K on his new appointment and to charge him not to forget his root (Oyo) in the course of service to the nation. Also, Barrister Oye Oyedemi hinted that the programme intended to sensitise the up and coming youths to share from Raji K.K experience and success story as necessary to serve as motivating drive to the younger ones.

The keynote speaker, Alhaji Onike Rahaman delved extensively with Issues and Challenges affecting the socio-economic and political development of Oyo. In his keynote address, Alhaji Onike Rahaman emphasized some of the causes of disunity among the various Oyo communities. He also spoke on strategic plan to enhance the growth and development of Oyo.

Alhaji Onike Rahaman further charged the prominent Oyo indigenes in attendance on the need to invest on human capital development through Education Endowment funding, Scholarship Awards, Bursary Awards and Book Subsidy Awards.

In his presentation, Alhaji Onike called on the youths to support the ongoing advocacy for cultural revolution among Oyo youths. In setting an agenda for Oyo development, Alhaji Onike emphasized the need for urgent evolution of sound literary, creative and intellectual culture by the youths. Lastly, Onike added that Oyo youth organizations need plan and should introduce mentoring programme as necessary for a more prosperous future of the youths of the community.

The Citation of Hon. Raji K.K was read by Mr Sheu Nurudeen Adebayo, the Head of Public Administration Department, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora. 

The occasion was enliven by cultural performance, tribute and goodwill messages. Some of the dignitaries that delivered the goodwill messages include: Alhaji Musbau Tunde Ologburo, Hon. Sakiru Ojo, Alhaji (Engr.) Wale Adelakun, Hon. Bolatito Akinyemi and Mr Saka Muhammed Adewale. 

Hon. Raji K.K in his response assured the gathering that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him by President Muhammadu Buhari and the Honourable Minister for Communications, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Shittu. He promised that he would do everything humanly possible to assist the town and her youths in the areas of human capital development and employment opportunities.
